and yet the hammer is the best and most versatile tool ever made… can do almost anything, just never know how many whacks it will take.. for a caveman like me it really is a precision instrument.
Unless you're MacGyver. Then it's a paperclip.

Checkout some of the Pakistan/India vehicle repair videos on YouTube. Those guys specialize in using a hammer and adjustable crescent wrench to repair things. Along with some stick welding wearing sandals. :)

Thanks for the replies folks :) I talked to a shop nearby and I think I'm just gonna shell out the money to have one of them regear my extra rear on the bench and then bolt it up in my garage.

If/when I ever regear that's how I'll probably do it too.

I have most of the tooling, but I've never set the lash, and that looks like it would benefit from some practice.

If you pull the rear end out yourself and re-install it, you save a ton of labor. And it's not difficult to do in your driveway.
