Display partially darkens

I picked my bronco up from the dealer yesterday after having the visor reattached and on the way home part of the screen darkened and became slow to touch response. At first I thought maybe the screen had been hit while the dealership was working on it. Did a master reset and also disconnected the battery and the screen still started up with the same issues. I called the dealership to let them know, but it was late in the evening and the service department had already left. We left this morning to head from Georgia to Wyoming for a backpacking trip and after 30 minutes of driving the screen returned to normal. Responsive to touch and same brightness all over. Have had a few stops with no issues until a bit ago and the dark spot has reappeared. My dealer is aware and I will take it in when we get back, but wasn't sure if anybody else has had this happen? It'll be about 12 days before we get back to Georgia.

I'm curious how long they tell you the wait will be on parts? I had an issue from back in early July where my screen went Dark, wouldn't turn on and I'm up to a month waiting on parts. No radio/screen, nothing. Using a little bluetooth speaker to listen to tunes.

New screen needed and ordered. The dealership told me its backordered and may know Monday how long it will take to come in. I'll update Monday.

That's too bad. I've been lucky so far, just the lower right corner is bad.

Just found out the screen is supposed to be at the dealership Monday or Tuesday. I’m not keeping my fingers crossed. Will update next week.

I guess this is why the Nav radios always have a sticker on the back that says "Scrap if Dropped".

Yay! That' good news! When we got home from our trip my screen went back to normal so the dealer couldn't do anything with it. It just started acting up again today. So I'm going to try and take it in tomorrow for them to see it in person.

I am taking it by the dealership on Friday of this week because they think they can trouble shoot it. I have called every week to see if they want me to bring it in to see it in person or could they just use the pictures from August. They have emailed pictures from when it started in August and are aware it had issues after receiving it back from the dealership that day. So fingers crossed they will realize it needs a new screen. I have the information from your post as well to show them I'm not the only person this has happened to.
