New to the site and from what I have seen there's a lot of great content!

I have a dilemma, heard from a friend about dealers raising the price of Bronco's when you go to pick them up. My order went into production on 9/14 so I went to my dealer today to see I would be receiving this surprise cost increase and the answer was yes $4995. When I questioned it the manager told me that they were getting calls from other dealers willing to pay $10K above list so if I didn't want to pay then they would refund my deposit and sell the reservation that day. For a laugh I asked if we could negotiate the new fee and was told they couldn't because the fee could change by the time my Bronco was delivered.

Called Ford and they told me that there was nothing they could do, including changing the reservation to another dealer. Has anyone experienced somrthing similar or have any advise

There is nothing Ford can do. Find a new dealer. A lot of dealers are adding dealer mark up to their cars.

Anyone whom pays a markup on a massed produced car is nuts. But a fool and their money…

What state is your dealer? Were they on the list of dealers that promised no extra fees?

Tell them you are calling the attorney generals office today to file a deceptive business complaint.

Your only recourse is to cost them customers through social media, word of mouth, etc. Call your local news station if they have a news report about scams or bad business practices, etc. Unfortunately if you didn’t get this signed when you ordered to buy at MSRP, they will do what they want. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

This is such B.S. How can Ford let this continue to happen and piss off an entire customer base by letting dealers take advantage. We are reservation holders that followed Ford's new business model for buying cars, and in the end, the dealers still sticks it to some of us...shame.
If my dealer tried to stick me with a suprise $5k+, I would be reaching out to Mike Levine for sure! Maybe there is nothing he can do, but its worth my time to try.
Otherwise, is there a timeframe to purchase the vehicle from the dealer? You are the reservation and order holder, so they can't sell that vehicle until you walk away or declare you don't want it. Drag out the sale for as long as you can?

If that personally happened to me I would tell them to keep it and just wait for the hype to die down or persoanally just buy a diffrent product these idiots paying this adm fee Is part of the problem

You don't say whether you agreed on the cost ahead of time, verbally or in writing, when you placed your order. There are a number of dealers honoring the agreed upon price, in my case in Charleston, it was "no discounts, sticker price" and thats still true for all customer pre-orders. There's lots of good advice here for advertising the dealers behavior, legal action, and more . . . when it happens.

I feel for you. I did not get an official price in writing, never even occurred to me when I order months ago. I do have a few emails where they agreed to no additional markups but nothing official. I will make sure to get something more iron clad when I reorder next month but I'm not sure it will matter. Once Ford finally gets their shit together and starts pumping these out, the insane markups will go away. For you early reservation people, I'm truly sorry. There are some good dealers out there but unfortunately there are quite a few bad ones too.

Not sure where you live, but don't forget local radio stations. There is a reason Ford went with the AM friendly antenna. And make some noise now. If Ford lets us switch dealers when we reorder (they better), this could cost some dealers lots of cash.

One solution might be to lease or finance through Ford, especially leasing, as there is a set % minimum down based on MSRP and a company predetermined residual. Sure the ADM might be tacked on but going through Ford finance is the only way Ford sees the ADM since all they care about is dealer paying them at invoice less holdback and advertising, which for the Bronco has been silent at the dealer and company level.

Yeah, don't listen to this advice and just give up. Have a look at this thread. Same thing happened to this guy and he was able to pushback and get them to honor MSRP.

While, I don't think that threatening to call attorneys and news stations will work there is no reason not go to the dealership and demand answers. Go into your salesrep's office and tell him you are here to talk about the mark-up. When he starts talking tell him, no I am not here to talk to you, I am here to talk your sales manager and tell him to go get him for you. But don't wait there, walk with him to the sales manager's office. Be assertive and don't take no for an answer. If the sales manager doesn't balk, ask to talk to the GM.
