Yesterday I received communication that my Bronco arrived. This was perfect as I have a big family vacation coming up on the weekend and it would be an awesome addition to the convoy.

I arrived as it was about to head to predelivery inspection and my salesman let me sit in it and take a look around. I immediately noticed that the left and right sides of the hood were about 1cm below the fenders. Got out to take a look and discovered the damage with the salesman. There are two large dents in the hood, the plastic cowl is bent out of place with tabs broken. The hinges are sunk in almost 1in from the fenders. Other plastic cowl pieces on the mirror assembly are broken and gouged. The vehicle was transported via rail to Houston then by truck to the dealer. Somewhere in between, something must have crushed it.

Waiting to hear back from the dealer on what recourse I have for repairs. But it’s a huge bummer that I am sure everyone can sympathize with.

So the Prep guys that gave it a bath didn't notice or say anything?
Or the Prep guys did say something, just not to the salesman?
Or the Prep guys told the salesman and he tried to slip it past you?

I would personally take pictures of the mileage and have the dealer fix it before you take delivery. So sorry for this to happen to you.

Well, he said, "...it was about to head to predelivery inspection and my salesman let me sit in it..." but, yeah, you'd think someone would have noticed before then.

What dealer in Hou??
Autonation Gulf Fwy. I don't blame them at all and they have been treating me kindly. I will reserve my opinions until the sale and repairs are complete. My brother and I each have another Bronco order (two more) with them. I've had to be proactive in terms of communication, but it's been reasonable.

Sorry that happened, but you seem to be taking it better than others on here. Hopefully they can order a new hood and other damaged pieces rather than repairing the old one, but either way I'm certain they can fix it right. Most dealer body shops offer a lifetime warranty on paint work, so this may work out in your favor 5-7 years from now when it needs to be redone from the sun.
It sucks, but shit happens. Raging or whining about it doesn't fix the damage.

I'm going to try my best to push for new parts but availability is the big question. I would gladly defer the repair till parts arrive, but then run the risk of them dragging their feet if I already took delivery of the vehicle. Lots to discuss with the dealer in the coming days.

Sorry for your loss.
I'd refuse it unless you can get panels that are already pre-painted from the factory.
I've never seen repainted panels age the same as a factory job. The factory paint jobs may not be great but they are pretty consistent panel to panel.
Don't let the new lead time make you settle for less than near-perfect.

It is a sad day when taking delivery of a damaged Bronco is still perceived as a ā€œ WIN!ā€ Congrats!
