I had my original 2022 windshield replaced last month at Safelite for $758.00. So far there have been no issues, and I noticed that the noise from the windshield area is quieter than it was when the original windshield was in place. I had to pay out of pocket since the cost was below my $1,000.00 deductible.
Thankfully my glass replacement deductible is $50 for OEM replacement.

I have USAA and they always send out Safelite to change my windshields. Safelite kind of complain when I ask for OEM but they come though. I have not had a windshield replace on my Bronco yet but many times on my two Rangers.

I asked the guy what's the scam with safelite forcing aftermarket windshields on customers. He laughed. I went on to say there must be some sort of kickback using non oem....he continued to smile. I said yeah just like I thought....a money grab. He said yeah there's more money to be made for the company going aftermarket.

Possibly dumb question:

Can the soundscreen windshield be installed on earlier Broncos needing a replacement?
The 25+ have a completely different windshield camera set up.
So while it may be possible, I’m not sure what all you’d need to change.

I actually need to get mine replaced because I have a crack all the way across it. So might be something I look into soon.

It’s not a kickback, it’s margins. They make more profit on the aftermarket glass because OEM net discounts aren’t nearly as high as the aftermarket suppliers.

I had an independent company install my OEM glass today 6/13, and they said read your glass policy, it may only allow OEM comparable. Any way, my guy added an interior ceramic flim for night glare, works great, safelite would never consider that.

My windshield has a crack and needs to be replaced. My insurance won't pay for an OEM replacement on my '24. For anyone with a non OEM replacement, how are they holding up, any issues? How's the quality? Any noticeable waviness?
I get that the insurance paid, but did you happen to see the cost?

I've heard it suggested that the Sound screen is tougher, anybody have any verification of that? Mine still got its first rockchip in the first month of ownership.
