Got in the Bronco to drive home from work, clutch went straight to the floor, clunk.

Under the hood is a small cylinder looking thing that appears to be in two pieces. Clutch Master Cylinder?

It moves a bit when you move the clutch pedal.

Anyone else have this issue. And does Ford consider a clutch master cylinder part of the Power Train for warranty purposes?

I’ve heard it happen but wouldn’t call it common. Plastic cylinder if I recall - bad parts happen.

I’d be shocked if they considered it power train, but stranger things have happened

Master is a much easier fix than Slave, fortunately

Yeah, looks like a $65 plastic part. Plus a bunch of labor since while I can see it, it's not actually easy to access. There is a repair shop around the corner from work, I can start it and drive it there in Crawl without a working clutch.

Will the manual start in 1st, or only C? 1st would make it easier to row the gears without the clutch & keep the traffic behind you happier. Had to do that in my XJ when I went to down shift into 4th climbing a hill on the freeway and it went to the floor. Hydraulic line blew a hole in it. took a minute and a great loss of speed to find a gear it would go into. I got home by making a series of right hand turns through city streets to get home stopping & starting in 1st and then I could row the gears with throttle matching 🤠

If you're careful with the throttle and rev matching you can shift without a clutch. But it does take practice. Start out slow, rev to about 2,500 then ease off the throttle while putting some tension on the shift lever. Once the gears are unloaded the shifter will move to neutral. The shift lever will go into the next gear once revs match.

The key is be gentle and don't force anything. Put it in neutral before coming to a complete stop.

I'm sure they'd try to avoid it, but I would call it drivetrain since it's not a normal wear part like a clutch disk. I'd be worth a call to the dealer

And if you have roadside assistance on your insurance (just a few bucks a year) they should cover a tow to point of repair.

I have AAA. You get free hook-up and 5 miles. Or the closest AAA shop.

My mechanic is about 20 miles. Ford Dealer is 10.

Lost a water pump on an F-250 halfway between Barsto and Needles. That was a free 100 mile tow because that was the closest shop.

Independent shop around the corner did the alignment on my friend's mini. Prices are probably higher than my normal shop, but less than the dealer.

Engine starts, because the clutch pedal is all the way in, so you can start. Used Crawl and 2nd to get it there.
