That was valve clatter....not chatter................and ignored.

Don't think I've ever floored mine, but it do make some noises.

The clatter is the motor screaming “ I need four more cylinders”.

So, the few times I have floored or been close to it I hear what I thought was valve clatter. Did it stock and now with the Ford Perf. tune. I have religiously run Shell 93 since day one. I'm now thinking I'm hearing the direct injectors kicking in and doing their thing under boost. Am I right? It's LAF! This motor does not sound good. 2025 2.3L.

I had this issue with my 2.3 that I had an intake and ford performance tune on it. It ended up being a lean knock. It scared the cylinder walls so I put a new engine in it and it then started misfiring. After 2 months of troubleshooting everything I put a new ecu in it and it fixed it.

This is a 2025 2.3L.

Mine was a 2022 2.3. So I guess you have port injection and direct injection which might be the cause. The direct injection kicks in at higher load.
