I use a magnet mount for convenience, but if you want a DIY, you can do this…don’t mind the screws sticking out, it’s just there to hold everything together.

Here is the Tackform mount, just installed. Not a great pic, but it's dark and we all know how little interior light the Bronco has...🙂 It's quite beefy and solid. Curious to see how it will stay tight as I drive but I'm assuming they have that figured out. The phone grip portion is the best I've ever tried. I'd say if you need a mount a good option for $59.

Update - while the mount is pretty stout and well made, the threaded accessory hole in the Bronco dash is not. Mine broke (as others have) today after installing it just yesterday. I'll have a go at repairing it myself, but will likely return this mount and just live with Android Auto on the screen until someone engineers a good solution.

I am very happy with my Ram Mount iPhone and radar detector holders mounted to my BuiltRight Industries dash mount plate on my Raptor. My plan when I get my Bronco was to see if I can get the Ram Mount installed on the dash accessory bar for my iPhone. Not sure if the Bronco will go fast enough to justify the radar detector.

I went with the tacform and it works well if you don’t have a pop socket on your phone.

Just out of curiosity, with CarPlay and Android Auto built into the infotainment system, why would you want a mount for your phone? (Full transparency, I don't currently have carplay in my 2012 Focus, so I don't know what I would be missing from having my iPhone mounted while using CarPlay.)
In my case, I have a couple of APPs that do not get pulled in with Android Auto or Apple Car Play. For example. I have one App that syncs with my radar detector and has a lot of extra features that even out does Waze (JBV1). Nothing like running Waze on the big screen and JBV1 off to the side. The other big reason is I just like having my phone handy and not lose in a seat or console. I have one of the larger phones that doesn't fit in my pocket when sitting. Thus, to quickly put it in a holder for easy access is important enough for a good mount.

I am very pleased with Proclip mount for Bronco. I purchase a fast wireless charger from Amazon and drilled a hole to run wire from console to holder so it would be some what hidden. I also purchased low profile 17mm ball from Tachform (17mm Amps Ball). The steering wheel needs to be pulled all the way out which I had already. Easily the best location for phone in regards to use and vision.
