I’ve been hoping someone fabs up an arm mount to bolt on in place of the grab handle on the passenger side of the center console. That’s a bronco bolt location that has a TON of practicality for tablet or phone mounts without having to stick something on the windshield or down in one of the cup holders.

I bought a 1/4 20 1” ball and cell phone arm mount from Bullet point mounting solutions. Very high quality. I use it to hold my switch panel but works fine for phone too

Something like this would probably work. There are a bunch of phone\tablet mounts with adjustable clamps.

Edit: I misread this. Sounds like you want to replace the grab handle... This would easily mount to it though.

There are tons that would work. I’m just waiting around for some specialized, purpose built bronco accessories. Those bronco bolts on the interior need some love just as much as the ones on the bumpers and the fender flares, etc.

I just put this in my Super duty and love it. Charges great and holds secure. A previous owner had already cut holes for switches so I made use of them to flush mount it instead of doing the vent clip because that sucked. I'm going to put one in my Bronco, maybe mounting like that ProClip.

67 Designs mount that attaches directly to the 1/4-20 BYOD insert. Drove 5000 miles and did major offroading, never even flinched.

https://www.67d.com/collections/arms/products/carbon-fiber-arms-matte -- I purchased the "Mini" size, any bigger and i think it would interfere with the windshield/rearview mirror

https://www.67d.com/products/universal-magmount-g2-device-holder-for-android-ios-and-other-devices -- magmount (I have used magnetic mounts for years, super convenient and quick when on the go). mounts to the ball end of the carbon fiber arm

https://www.67d.com/products/cf-carbon-fiber-series-camera-mount?variant=40737101709502 -- the ball-end/threaded attachment point that connects the whole thing to the dash.

It's a little pricey compared to amazon junk but the quality is top class

Just out of curiosity, with CarPlay and Android Auto built into the infotainment system, why would you want a mount for your phone? (Full transperancy, I don't currently have carplay in my 2012 Focus, so I don't know what I would be missing from having my iPhone moutned while using CarPlay.)

Curious... why would you need your cell phone mounted when you have those big screens?

valid point. for the most part you really dont need the phone in sight if you're connected via those methods. for me having a phone in sight allows me to actually read text messages, record dash videos/pictures, refresh Gaia Maps, etc. Beyond that you could tuck it away and not ever need it though

I have two phones I use. One for personal and one for work. I can only
"sync" one phone so it would be helpful for me to be able to see the phone that isn't connected.
