My Samsung used to get horribly hot any time I got near the Bronco even when I was using nothing on the phone nor charging. For about 5 months now it has not been bad and I even use Android Auto and the Bronco trail app a little now.

I had the 12Pro and the wireless charging never seemed to work correctly. It was hit or miss. I changed to a 14Pro back in January.I have the same build as you and my iPhone12 gets so hot on the wireless āchargerā which causes the phone to be useless. Yours doesnāt get hot at all?
I added fast charger ports to my Bronco. 1 on the dash with 1 C and 2 USB, and a double USB and Power port under the dash. I don't have overheating issues, unless the sun overheats from being on the windshield. It makes a big difference.Wireless CarPlay is a huge battery drain, so some heat is normal. Combined that with the crappy wireless charger Ford put in the bronco and it can get very hot.
Havenāt received my Bronco yet but in my current car if I am playing pandora, itās plugged in and the sun is hitting it, it over heats every time. No car play. (iPhone 8 plus)Itās not really like a pc. More like a small tablet. Lots of dedicated, optimized hardware and dedicated optimized software.
No case here. Like i said, i use CarPlay in other vehicles without this issue.
And heat up is an understatement. The apps stop responding and the phone eventually stops working completely until it restarts or i cool it off.
I can use maps, Bluetooth, mobile hotspot, and charge it wirelessly outside of the vehicle without this issue.
ā¦. other than being able to use GPS map apps, playing Apple Music, listen to texts and voice mail etc etc etc lol ⦠nope nothing uniqueI still donāt see the point of Carplay, other than NAV, I guess? But i can manage to move about without needing my hand heldā¦
And I can see why the phone would get hot because you need so many systems turned-on: data signal, bluetooth, Siri, etcā¦. Carplay just doesnāt seem to offer anything unique.
