Plastidip will last longer if you use Plastidip primer. But... you won't be able to peel it off if you use their primer.
I’m getting some tonight and trying it on a fender project based on your other thread suggestion. But skip the primer though if I want a re-do, huh?

Good idea. About 20 years ago the guys on NASIOC, the Subaru Impreza forum, were doing all kinds of things with Plasitidip. One even used it to repaint his car, I think it took 25 cans. They had a lot of success painting their wheels and it would hold up to a car wash. It's fairly easy to remove unless you use the primer, then it's permanent.

I picked up a super cheap modular bumper that has a couple of scrapes on the bottom and want to have the whole bumper refinished in the factory matte/satin texture.

Bead blasting would be the easiest way to remove all of the old paint and surface rust from the scrapes which would enhance the texture.

Would you have it painted or powder coated?
I think powder coat will hold up better than paint. Just my opinion though
