Meguiar's Scratch-X

It helps a lot but can’t work miracles

I am all ears for something that can take care of deeper stuff though - short of taking it into the body shop
Try Torque products. They are great

Just to be clear when buying detailing products.

Polish , will have some amount of abrasive in it to rub out tiny imperfections. A straight up polish or rubbing compound WILL NOT leave a protective layer when your done. You will need to apply a ....

Wax. Wax will not have any abrasives in it, used to provide the shine and lustour and protection.

Cleaner waxes, very common, will have a bit of polish (abrasive material) in them to clean up the surface and also will leave that nice shine and protective coating when you wipe them off.

If you polish a surface, be sure to protect it with something (wax, sealant, etc) as a final step, otherwise contaminates may bond into the paint very easily. Then you'll soon be back to buffing it out again.

I'm not even going to get into coatings at this point, as we are first, trying to get OP's paint corrected.

If a scratch is deep, but not through the clear, I may buff it out a bit, but not too much, as you will remove a lot of the clear in the surrounding area to make it perfect.
At some point you'll have to rely on the fillers present in some quality waxes to help fill in that scratch and hide it. But it will come back as the wax deteriorates, and all waxes do in a few months. Sealants maybe a few months longer.

If it just a shallow marring of the clear, it'll probably work out pretty well with a light rubbing/buffing compound or cleaner wax.

If you went through the clear and to the paint, you are now in the realm of repairing the clear some how, whether you have a shop re-spray it or try to touch it up yourself, but that can get pretty involved very quickly in order to have a big ol' scar, if that bothers you. Others may view that as a glorious battle wound, so your view towards your rig matters regarding how you may go into repairing a scratch, if at all.

If you went into or past the paint, you are definitely looking at a repaint or heavy repair of some type. Body shop time....

use some Meguiars Ultimate Compound and orbital polisher, followed by a good wash and ceramic wax.
