Hello guys my full size bronco has a crack in the windshield. I have two options

1: get it done by a big company: probably $1k plus

2: have my cousin do it for cheap (he’s replaced countless windshields of mine and windows and the work was a 10/10)

The reason I’m questioning my cousin is because doesn’t the newer broncos have like a calibration or something that needs to be done as well and bunch more stuff that only big companies can do? My cousin kinda just does this in his backyard

My cousin has done my impalas and Buicks and other older cheaper cars. I’ve never had him do a expensive nice car

Yes, your Bronco windshield has to have calibration programming done to make sure all the electronic safety nannies work properly. I have to get mine done in the near future and called around. The quoted price for all was $1,500.00 CDN so your $1000.00 USD guess is probably about right.

Had my windshield replaced last year for $700 at my local Ford dealership, OEM glass. Ford doesn’t do the replacement but they have “their” glass guy come in a couple times a week. Very satisfied with their workmanship. Plus I got Ford points!
