I had one in my Grand Cherokee. Counted on it one day to run a George Foreman grille for lunch. I went hungry that day. They’re usually close to useless. It’s very disappointing.
The one in the FJ will at least power a coffee pot, haven't tried anything more substantial.

They're usually good for 150 watts. So .... a laptop.

The outlet's can barely power anything useful in my Explorer sport 2015 loaded with every option (Essentially the Lux).

I think best option is to add an option for cigarette lighter, and use one of the plug in sockets there or wait for the hybrid and hope it has the onboard setup like the new 2021 f-150 if you really wanna power some shit

As long as the 2 door has one on the back of the center console we’re good. Gotta keep that Nintendo powered on for the 7 yr old.

Can’t really blame that outlet because you didn’t read it’s rating. ?

Right?

Most small inverters won't run something with a heating element. Expecting a George Forman to run on a small inverter is silly.

If you need to power something like that you should look at a high-wattage pure sine wave inverter.

It’s a shame, really. So much usefulness in being able to use something with a heating element in the great outdoors. Sure, my Coleman 2 burner camp stove is awesome, but imagine being able to add a small coffeemaker or waffle maker for a premium breakfast in the woods!

Back to the basics. These won't drain your battery in no time either.

The Aeropress will make better coffee than you'll ever get out of a machine anyway.

I'm sure Ford limited the size to prevent people from killing their battery not knowing how much draw some electronics have.

Adding a 2000 watt inverter isn't hard if you require that much power.

A small 500 watt 110 volt inverter won't pull much battery power and will be good for laptops, games, and any small appliance 500 watts and less. If you want to power coffee pots (800 watts)or your George Forman grill get a 1500 watt modified sine wave inverter, cheaper than a pure sine wave, which is only needed if you're powering larger electronics that plug directly in to a 110 socket. If the item uses a transformer block to step down 110>12vdc then just make an adapter cord to run it directly from the vehicles 12vdc system. I have installed several Solar/inverter/battery power systems for RV's and it is not rocket science.

Does this mean that if it comes with an outlet that it is powered by an inverter....it also comes with a power inverter? Thanks

Not sure that could be done, what power are you looking for? It's 400W (in park) 300w (in drive).

The photo of the AC outlet got me wondering since I have been charging my Bluetti power bank which can charge at up to 200 watts.

Just looked at my AC outlet and it is 400 watts. Lux package.
