Desperate for help.

I have a 2 door Bronco Outer Banks (cactus grey, 2.3L) non -SAS.

My goal: Upgrade the wheels & tires, without a level up, lift kit, or removal of the crash bars (although i will remove the crash bars if absolutely necessary)
What I am looking for is black wheels, that have a retro look. i.e. something along the lines of the following:
  • cragar soft 8
  • american racing baja's
  • pro comp wheels series 69
  • pro comp Wheels series 51
Note: something that has that 8 hole look. It does not have to be those brands. As for the tire, my preference is the BFG KO2 or like it.

Here is the problem I am having -
Finding a wheel that has that look, with an offset that is just a slight aggressive stance. No more that an 1 inch of poke. I have run through all 103 pages of the "Show us your installed wheel / tire upgrades here! (Pics)" and while I have seen the pro comps, and other wheels the poke is just a little too much for my preference. Some folks add SAS flares, and that seems to be a solution BUT I would like to keep the standard flares I have now.

Does anyone have any recommendations of a wheel out there that I'm looking for? I have tried using the tire calculator, figuring offsets, backspacing, tire sizes and still can't seem to find a black 8 hole style wheel that will give me a slight poke only, on a non lifted/modified OBX.

At this point, I'm really in need of recommendations or consulting b/c I've invested a lot of time reading threads here and searching around and have yet to find what I'm looking for. The biggest problem seems to be the offset/poke options.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and for any feedback.

ob has a +55 offset, i would say any wheels that are in the +20 range. so look for 20 -55 positive offset.

i'm in the same boat. doing to upgrade but the lowest positive offset i will go is +18, and some of the wheels i like are zeros.

KMC KM541 Dirty Harry Textured Black (tirerack.com)

KMCs are a +18, there are similar things. just go look at a site you can filter by bolt pattern, size, and offset.

My 2 door Cactus Grey OBX is slated to be built tomorrow, so I'm starting to look at what I want to it because I really don't like the OBX wheels. But I'm not really a fan of most aftermarket wheels, so I was strongly considering a set of Badlands wheels/tires, but I feel like I'd be wasting the factory wheels & tires because no one wants to buy them.

So my current idea is to get the wheels powder coated and just upgrade the tires, have you seen the threads where people did that? It's an idea, they're still not 100% my speed, but I like them a lot better.

You can grab a set of badlands takeoffs with 285/75 17 for $1500 or less it’s hard to even buy the tires for that. I got my set for $1200 for 5 with sensors. No trip to a tire shop bolt on the go. They have no poke nice and even with the flares. A guy could powder coat them black I suppose. They do fill the wheel wells up tho. I do not have a straight on shot and now have a lift.

I think a lot of it has to do with the wheel width - +20 offset yielding different looks for s 9” wheel vs a 8.5” wheel. (I didn’t go and research the ones you’d called out up above).

For my OBX, I thought a little poke would be OK, so went with a Fuel 18” x 9” wide wheel with +20 offset. That limits the tires you can put on them due to the 9” width, so you’re talking about a 275 minimum tire (most likely). I put 285/65R18 Falkens on them and there is a fair amount of poke (2” maybe). It does look pretty aggressive, but was more than I expected. With a 275/70R18 it would probably be about an inch of poke.

And… to make it even more complicated…the brand of tire does seem to make a difference too. I’ve seen pictures on this forum of others with the same size tire (285/65R18) but different brands, and they look totally different (Generals being the smallest, BFGs being next larger, with the Falkens seeming massive).

thank you all for your replies.

my options are limited and ive concluded that the Method 703 17x8.5 with 35mm offset will get me as close to the look im after.

as for the wheels, which would you recommend.
BFG KO2 285/70/17 or the BFG KO2 285/75/17?

I believe i can go with either w/out losing the crash bars.

BTW, i forgot how expensive this will be. 5 methods wheels and 5 BFGs will come in around $2,900!!!! sourced from Summit Racing.
