Hi,

So I recently purchased an Outer Banks '24 and it came with the hood scoop.. I don't dislike how it looks but maintenance wise its been a pain. I have cats and other outdoor pets that like to go on my hood and the material for the hood LOOOVE to collect fur. I think that's why the cats love it, they probably like to use it as a scratcher.... Aside from looks it really doesn't serve a purpose and I find it a hassle to clean and maintain.

Is there a market for them? If I decide to take it off and try to sell it?? I feel as though since I'm located in Hawaii, not many from the mainland would look since the shipping would be pretty hefty. And I'm not sure about any on the island who would buy as well. I know I paid more than what I could sell it for but at least I can use that for other mods I wanted to do.

..... Would removing it also void any warranty I have of the vehicle from the dealership?

I can't say anything about the hood scoop, but I would like to note - cats of all kinds love my Bronco as well. My soft top is covered in orange fur... Any time I wash it, it's certain to have paw prints all over it next time i go out to drive.
Something about the Bronco is just a cat magnet.

I heard they like hot/warm spots.... because mine love to make themselves at home on my hard top as well. Which is an issue too since they need to get on the hood and windshield to get to it :/

Speaking to warranty - no removing it shouldn't do anything to your warranty

I was stationed on Oahu for awhile, throw an ad out there and see if there's any interest, if so then remove it. I picked up all kinds of good car parts when I lived there but I had a 240 and a Miata that I auto crossed, so a little different market.

I agree.
The scoop can go on any hood.
Anyone who buys it will have to cut a hole to add it. Kind of a "one thing fits all".
I have seen a couple of Bronco's that used Jeep scoops.
I've seen Jeeps that use all kinds of crazy hood stuff.

When I start seeing evidence of cats on my soft top vehicles the cats soon disappear. I’ve had 2 convertible tops damaged by feral cats. Usually there’s at least one feral cat around here and they do keep the rats and mice at bay… they just better stay off my vehicles. An open box of mothballs keeps the varmints out of my boats etc.
