Broken Hood Bolt

Does anyone have experience with a broken hood bolt?

I snapped a bolt in half when installing a hood strut. My hand slipped while tightening and the bolt snapped.

Dealer said to take it to a body shop but it seems like that bolt could be replaced. I wanted to check here before doing anymore damage.

Got a pic? Sounds like a bolt extractor would work but hard to say depending on location

Post a pic pls. The standard approach would be to drill a hole in the broken off bolt, then use an easy out to back the bolt out.

Looks like you need to remove the hood and back that bolt out with some vice grips.
