We had a JTops Bimini under our soft top. Served its purpose well. Decided to go the hardtop route and removed the Bimini for two reasons. First, we just didn’t go topless or partially topless much. But second and more importantly, the JTops Bimini blocks access to hardtop panel lock handles and interferes with roof panels attaching to the roll bar. Other brands may be different. Said another way, in my case it was either one or the other, Bimini and hardtop can’t coexist. Bimini now resides in the pile of Bronco stuff I just had to have and don’t use anymore. :)
The trick is since the front two straps need to be removed for the hard top panels to be installed, the mesh top folds back and gets snapped in place with the supplied snaps sewn in. This allows one to access the rear latches of the two panels. I agree it isn’t ideal but that is how they figured this.

The mesh top is the way to go. The solid tops act like sails and make a lot of noise. I used the solid Bimini Ford options my first year, and changed to the mesh version after that due to the noise when traversing the highways.

I originally purchased the Bestop canvass top from the dealer and the top flapped and the support bar rattled even at relatively slow speeds of 35-40 mph. I purchased the Broncobikini as a replacement and couldn’t be happier. The install was simple, the product is high quality and the top does not flap or rattle even at highway speeds. To top it off, the customer service at Broncobikini is outstanding. I was missing a bungee in my order and when I emailed Dan, he sent the part overnight, no questions asked.

Agreed, Dan is great, I bought the original and looking at upgrading. I'm guessing you got the latest version? The original still works great after 3 summers, but I'd like to close the front gap for rain.
