Sounds like an expensive mechanic mistake. No oil under the car or on chassis under it makes me believe oil refill went right through without a plug to hold it or just never put the plug/oil back in.

How many miles since the oil change?

Nope that is not what it sounds like.

Not always true. A thrown rod makes a pretty good drain hole in an oil pan or block, or both. Not unusual to have a catastrophic towed in w/no oil in it...very unusual to have no drain plug (unless that portion of the oil pan was blasted off when guts were ejected).

When you had the oil changed, was a new OEM oil drain plug installed or an aftermarket drain plug. Possibly it was not installed correctly. In some form if the plug failed there should be oil covering the underside whether it was a leak / drip or blew out at failure by the time you pulled off the road...

If there's no oil residue and no oil, how was it driven for 1 month without an oil or engine light?...

There have been no recorded 2.7 valve failures on this forum on 22MY Broncos yet...if that is what is wrong with yours, it would be the first. Did you happen to look underneath it at all when It was waiting to be towed? Or when it was on the tow truck? There's no way an oil plug falls out without creating one HELL of a mess! I just don't buy the whole story. Did you ask the dealer if you can take a look at the underside while they have it on the hoist? My thinking is the dealer just plain doesn't want to put an engine in this thing under warranty, and is looking for a way out. Anybody can drain the thing, and toss the plug away, then say "that's how it was when it got here"

My car sales friend says bmw would just fix stuff to make it go away, but Ford plays hardball.
I would think Ford would cover it under warranty. It's not like I'd have any good reason to self-sabotage at 2 months old with the demand these have..

Didn't mean to be definitive. Was referring to OP's case. And since there has yet to be a mention of a hole in the block, probably 99% true in this case

There's simply no believable way that you were driving perfectly normally, with normal amount of power and no strange noises AND no oil pressure warning, on the freeway with NO OIL in your engine...I have to believe you would have noticed some type of symptoms even if your oil pressure sender didn't work (which is unlikely on a vehicle this new). The story simply doesn't add up. Since you have no real incentive to lie here, I question the explanation the dealer is giving you, and would demand proof that the vehicle was received without a drain plug. I would also want to talk to the guy who towed it...just to see if he saw ANYTHING to indicate this thing blew all its oil out on the road. Might wana pay the freight to have it towed to another dealer, but would talk to a service advisor/manager at the next dealer 1st and explain the story these guys are giving you, and why it makes no sense...see what they say...likely they might try to dodge this job also!

I've been in overheated scenarios, and this was nothing like that. Just a quick loss of power and enough momentum to pull off the road.
I'm currently suspicious the dealer shop actually hasn't done anything but blow smoke..

Something isn’t adding up. These things are loaded with sensors that throw alarms. I would hook up my scanner and see what codes were tossed. I can’t believe for a second a low oil pressure alarm/ code wasn’t present. It would be one thing if the entire oil pan suddenly fell off, but an oil plug coming out only allows the oil to flow out at a max rate. As offered by previous posters, I would contact the tow driver. If it was a roll back, they will remember you if indeed the vehicle suffered a catastrophic oil loss. They were cursing you out while cleaning the oil off the tow truck.
