Best Intercooler Whipple vs. cp-e vs. Mishimoto?

Looking for my next project to compliment the stage I mods. Anyone have any thoughts on these intercoolers, and the best results for cooling those Turbos? Also, will these all fit with shutters?

I did the Whipple and then added the aFe Hot and Cold Charge tubes. Finally, did the Ford Performance tune. The bronco runs like a stallion. Also during the install I removed the shutters.

I went a totally different route.

Mishimoto High Mount here. No shutters anymore with this setup though.. This does make it a bit easier to get a winch in there and NOT block the intercooler.

True, but the big problem with the RC setup, IMO, is that it hurts one the parts of the Bronc I don't want to hurt...............................

Good information. What's the performance benefit of removing the shutters, if any???? Sounds like all the intercoolers are similar in performance over stock.

I went Mishimoto w/ the AFE charge pipes. Install was a breeze. In combination w/ CAI and 3" cat-back MUCH improvement over stock, it's breathing much better.

Anyone interested in a unused CPE bolt-in intercooler that allows you to use your factory or aftermarket charge pipes and shutters? Local pickup in Thousands Oaks CA area...I just bought it but am going to go with a different setup. Testing the waters...I paid almost 700 would sell for 500...

I would, but FLA. I thought that Intercooler was too thick for shutters? Full removal of those?

Front shutters fit as OEM. Rear shroud gets removed because of the increased depth of the new IC.

Ahhh......can't find a good video of Intercooler install for 2.7L, only 2.3L. So I simply unscrew shroud and no effect of dropping intercooler out with unhooking shutters?

Front shutter assembly stays untouched...it is just the two clips for the hoses and the 4 bolts to the frame to R&R the IC. You could take shutters out if you wanted, but I prefer to keep them because they are supposed to modulate temps to reduce condensation.

The performance benefit to no shutters is slightly less heatsoak in certain conditions and weight loss.

All 3 will perform fairly similar though, personally, I love the idea of the Mishi if running a winch for all that extra clearance, the Whipple unit is excellent quality as well.
