Answers o these questions depend on your intended use mode. Mine is strictly for security and accident events, so I never look at the videos and never download them. I wanted something that has good resolution for license plates, at night whenever possible. Wanted front and back recording in case someone reaerends me so 2ch recording was a must. I wanted recording while parked so a hardware capability was a must. Running wires to the back of the bronco is a bit of a PITA particularly across the A pillar so thin cables and compact connectors were highly desired.

I have a small picatiny BYOD rail on the dash on the off chance that I ever want to record something "for fun".

PS 3ch recordings are mostly for Lyft and Uber drivers.

I went with the Garmin mini 2 for one main reason -> NO GPS. No GPS will help ensure the video cannot be used against you, i.e. no speed detection.

Nice! Thank you, I never thought about that aspect!

Pictures please of your rear mounted camera.
It is stuck to the middle of the tailgate window, not much to see. Sure, you can't remove the hard top without disconnecting the cam but I am 101% sure I will never ever want to do that. 20 years with a Wrangler has made that conclusion pretty firm.

You can turn disable the GPS in software on the Viofo 139 pro

Viofo 139 pro
Latest sensor tech
Good image quality at night
No pointless screens to take up space
Tiny connectors and RF cables for easy routining
Up to 3 ch recording

The firmeare is glitchy and a pita to download the images but I am hoping to never be in an accident and need to do that. And if I do I can just pull the SD card

This right here. I've turned GPS off on the el cheapo unit I've had for a few years.

One other thing: beware audio recording. If you don't know what I'm talking about, do some research or contact a lawyer.

This. Most dashcams will record audio by default. You absolutely do not want that feature enabled. Depending on how lead footed you are you may or may not want GOS enabled. Though to be honest disabling GPS makes speed determination only slightly more difficult. There are plenty of objects on the roadside with a known fixed distance between them, back calculating speed is just a matter of basic math.
