Base vs. all other models

Hey guys - ive had my 4 door FE since July - absolutely love it. Its my first off roading vehicle …. I also have a res for a 2 door base which i havent converted to an order yet - looking for some guidance before i convert to an order…. The reason im getting the base is because i want to customize my ride from the ground up in order to do some serious offroading. My question is can i build the base up to be as capable as any other model, or would it be smarter to get the squatch base, or another trim? Trying to minimize the initial damage from a price standpoint but i dont want to make a mistake and leave out a feature that would help my customization over the long term. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Get the squatch base for the lockers and the gearing, it would be way easier than having all that stuff done after market

I would think you would really want the locking rear differential, and that is not available on the "base Base" non-SAS. If you add the SAS package, you get the front and rear lockers.

Seems like a simple question, but how far are you willing to go?

If you are willing to do axle swaps and regearing etc, you can order a base base. You'll be swapping out essentially the entire drive train minus the engine and transmission though. Oh and the rear dif is the same I believe, but you'll have to regear and add a locker.

The middle ground is ordering a Sasquatch so you get the factory upgraded drive train, but going after market when it becomes available will likely result in a sturdier rig.

Like I said, how involved do you want the process to be?

If you plan to really wheel it your going to want front and rear lockers. With IFS off-road your always going to have a tire in the air even on small obstacles you’ll be glad you have the lockers trust me. Go with the Sasquatch so you get the lockers and better axles with larger ring and pinion and lower gear ratio.

BaseSquatch is such a killer deal.
It has everything you need for the driveline and can then add your own bumpers, sliders and under armor.

Yeah basesquatch. Unless you are building for 40s. Then just get base and upgrade the front axle later because you will want to go to the 5.13 or deeper gearset. Or solid axle swap. The beast ashley just put up is a monster and would be cheapest to build from a base.

i also held out for the sasquatch package to came in a manual (not sure if that changes anything aside from the smaller engine), on this build im trying to be as much of a purist as i can with todays tech… i dont want to have to rip things out and waste where thats possible, so it seems like the best move for me is to go with the sasquatch base - appreciate the guidance man!

Base mansquatch if you want the manual. Basesquatch is a capable as any other Bronco, sans the sway bar disconnect if you need it. I don't need it so no issue for me. All of our needs vary...

Love the 4Dr BaseSquatch 2.7L we got. I would guess it's more capability than you'll ever use. Wife also has a 2Dr manual BaseSquatch on order. I like stock vehicles and won't touch either, but I'll be in the market for the Bronco Raptor when it comes out. It will have the engine, suspension and brakes upgrades I want.

As the others have said SQUATCH IT !!!!

Even though you can buy all the stuff to make your non squatch Bronc a Squatch Bronc. I would just get it that way from the start save your self some trouble seeing how you want to use it for "serious" off-roading. And in case you may have not seen ADV fenders on a Squatch and you can fit 40's.

If you look close it still has the "yellows" on it. confirmed in the comments.

They eventually put Kings on it. I'm sure you will see lots of the final build this upcoming week from SEMA. Along with many more serious off-roading Broncos.
