Back bumper gap - 1 inch

There is noticable gap on the back bumper.
It is 1 inch on the right side and half inch on the left side.

Is this common or factory defect?
How to reduce this gap?

Look underneath and loosen the bolts, I’m assuming there’s adjustment there. Same goes for your side steps on your other post.

I’m not sure, I’d say that’s up to you and what looks good. You could either bring one side up or the other down if you want. There’s going to be a variance in everyone’s broncos, so there’s no right or wrong

Can I just say this is not a defect and is common on this type of vehicle. IMHO there is no adjustment. You are driving a brick and you've been watching Chip Foose too much.

There is always going to be a large gap on a body on frame vehicle.

The cabin can shift on the frame, so they have to give it a large amount of clearance so it doesn’t hit the bumper, which is rigidly attached to the frame.

Ours has the same mismatch, left to right. Fortunately, we never see it when we drive sooooooo…..
May take a look at adjusting it when I install the hitch. Or not…

Ford has had problems with parts alignments for years, so I'm not surprised. And, it's not just MAP. The wife's Mustang came in with the hood to far to the drivers side. In my second life I worked in a manufactirering enviroment. I noticed many employess would become complacent after doing the same thing day after day, so I can understand the problem. It's easy to just go through the motions with a jod like that I don't like it, but I try to understand it. Your bumper can be easier lined up by you, or if you trust them your dealers body shop came to the job. I don't know for sure, but you may be able to lossen some bolts and slide into position. If it needs to be lifted, if you have a floor jack you can use that to lift it up. Or call a neighbor, and offer some libations for a little help. I get it, little things like that drive me nuts also.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I found this while trying to find info on the issue I noticed this morning with my rear bumper. I noticed that my driver's side has a slightly larger gap than the passenger side after putting the bumper back on after installing a hitch. I guess it's good to know it's a somewhat common issue. I've linked the thread where I discuss my issue below. As far as I can tell, there isn't much room for adjustment on the rear bumper. Unless anyone else has other info, I suppose I'll just learn to live with it. I'm assuming it's not something that would be worth taking it to the dealership over.

Now you’ve done it… We are all going to go look at our back bumpers and be unhappy with what we find. Now we can’t un-see it lol.
