Auto Start / Stop - how to permanently disable?

Even though this is an old post, since it came up in recents I will chime in. The Auto Start/Stop can be disabled in all Bronco models with the following procedure:
-Drain oil from vehicle
-Replace oil with Pepsi/Salt mixture (70/30)
-Run engine at 3k RPM for at least 10 minutes
-Engine should default to "stop"
To re-enable, follow shop procedure for engine replacement.

Old static thread... Add the Auto Start Stop Eliminator
Just wanted to post if any Newbies like me on forum this last year.

For those pondering should / shouldn't install the Autostop Eliminator due to dash work involved.
It's a super quick task, no concerns breaking plastic pins. It disassembled very easy with a few screws; installing the short ASS Harness behind Switch was zero challenge.

I'd estimate 40 minutes and that was me taking my time examining the space for other projects.
So much better than adding an ODB2 Connector style interface, consuming the ODB port (not that one is even available for the Bronco as GM Products). I personally will be installing 2 iBank Pro's in a Dual AeroForce Pod mount consuming the ODB2.

Such a pleasant change... maintains the last position of ASS Switch (Off/On), and no reaction to it stopping at Intersections. For those pondering, it's well worth the $$ to eliminate the issue.

I wanted to disable the start stop feature but am too cheap to spend money on an eliminator. I used a zip tie that holds the button in all the time. I already had a package of zip ties ( see photo) that measures 1/32” thick and 3/32” wide. I cut a piece off at 3/4” long. Push the button in and put it at the top gap of the switch. It still shows the dash icon as being disabled but it also keeps the “off” light from lighting up on the switch. No dash disassembly and you can use a toothpick to remove it when going in for service work.

I went with this model on Amazon. It installs under the driver’s side footwell in about five minutes with no need to remove the dash or any panels. Works perfectly.

For $140 more I went with the Flashcal+ to disable Auto Start/Stop, but also adjusted these features:

- Disabled the double-honk when closing doors with engine running.

- Added Sport Mode so now have all 8 GOAT modes.

- Changed the key fob panic-button to now having to be pressed twice to set off the alarm.

There's a LOT MORE options, these were just the ones I've done so far.

No permanent hardware installation, connect briefly to the ODB2 port, sync with your phone, remove the ODB dongle, and good to go!
