And yes, I made sure they were enabled in the settings and the switch was on A. I actually disabled and re-enabled in settings with no success. Didn't find much of anything in a search so I thought I would see if anyone else has this issue.

OK, question in a diffent way. I have a base with no significant upgrades (like 360 or any cameras other than reverse). The collision allert camera controls the high beams, right? So none of my bumper mods matter because I had no sensors?

As far as I know the AEB is controlled by the sensor/camera up by the rear view mirror. I would presume this is where the sensor is for the high beams as well but that is speculation. Someone will be along who knows for sure, but I doubt anything you did in regards to a bumper mod would effect either the high beams or the AEB, unless you messed with wiring in your bumper mods, but even that seems like a long shot.

What does your dash look like when the lights are on. Does it have the auto high beams icon and they just never switch over to the high beams?

I think I read somewhere that the high beam sensor is up by the rearview mirror.
Maybe someone else with more knowledge can confirm?

Yes. Collision assist and auto high beams both use input from the same camera (IPMA) on the windshield. So nothing with your bumper would affect that.

As far as it not working, there could be quite a few different things so that’s hard to say. Here are a list of parameters for operation just to double check.

The IPMA turns the high beam headlamps on when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The feature has been enabled using the message center.
  • The headlamp switch is in the AUTOLAMPS position and the autolamps feature has turned the exterior lamps on.
  • The vehicle speed is greater than 51 km/h (32 mph).
  • The IPMA determines the ambient lighting conditions are dark enough.
  • The IPMA does not detect any light source that can be interpreted as an illuminated vehicle lamp.
The IPMA turns the high beams off if any of the following occur:

  • The IPMA detects any light source that can be interpreted as an illuminated vehicle lamp.
  • The IPMA determines the ambient lighting conditions are not dark enough.
  • The vehicle speed falls below 44 km/h (27 mph).
  • The autolamps are turned off.
  • The IPMA determines the view is blocked.

Probably simple, took me several weeks. You have to play with the stalk....some back and forth until you finally see the little A appear on the dash. I'm afraid to mess with it now!

My auto high beams quit working a while back and then the auto braking camera stopped working a little later. You might want to get on the dealer wait list.

Yea, I thought that was the control point. So initially I was just visually watching for the beams to determine if it was activating, but then I changed to looking at the dash and looking for the high beam indicator. Still no go. I'm pretty sure that all the turn on conditions above were met as I have 2 other fords with this feature.

I was thinking about getting into ForScan and seeing if there was a setting in there that would override the settings menu.

Just a quick question. Mine have not worked either since i purchased my BB in July. The A is on in auto Beam. Could it be that My driving lights are on all of the time when I drive? I leave the driving lights on to help lighting the shoulder for wildlife. I know that when you turn the high beams on manually the driving lights turn off. This works the same way in my volvo but auto headlights work on this car.

Not saying this is your issue, but for me it took me a while to realize that the Autos were working. The auto high beams gradually fade in and out over a second or two, it isn't like flipping a switch and BAM the highs are on (like every other car I've ever drove).

I kept seeing the blue light on the dash but not noticing the added brightness, but finally figured it out. On my BB without signature lights - the lights don't really get brighter - there's that horizontal line that cuts off on low beams, and the high beams just kinda extend up above that so that horizontal cutoff goes up higher, it doesn't really illuminate any brighter on the road or to the sides any better. The fact that it gradually fades in and out made it hard for me to notice it.

I do wish I could adjust the speed they work at, the 32mph thing is a bit high, would be nice if I could drop that to about 20mph so they work on the curves on the roads I'm on often.
