Hi All, I’m looking at the ASFIR frame mounted rock sliders. 99% of the usage would be as a step getting in and out. 1% rock sliding. Just wondering if anyone has these, and can get me some measurements for how far they stick out past a specific point. Pinch welds or something else. My passengers find the oem step is too small getting out of the back seats. Looking for something ½” wider. Obviously not sticking outside the tires, just a bit wider. I’ve contacted Asfir but they couldn’t help, which was surprising

If the company, itself, couldn’t help, if it’s me, I’m not going with that company. One would think they would give as much help to a potential customer, as possible. Their lack of engagement does not inspire confidence. Myself, I am looking at 3 other fixed slider/steps. RCI Off-road, CBI off-road and GOAT Fabrication which are all frame mounted and bolt on, with no drilling required. Good luck to you, as I am on a similar quest!

I don't believe the GOAT Fab are frame mounted. They state they are "sub-structure mounted", which I believe means the same as factory. I went with RCI and have been happy with them. I preferred the rear kick out and removable/replaceable top panels.

Yes! But they seem like they have the most robust mounting of the body substructure type.

Another frame-mounted slider that works as a step is @Metal-tech 4x4, whose usually pretty good about answering questions.

@Spicygb Every rock slider we have ever built for any vehicle has been frame-mounted for the past 25yrs.

We have two versions of sliders for 4D Broncos. Both feature our trademarked 2-stage rub rail, with all forward and trailing edges ramped. (including the main body of the slider) The rear kick-out will push your truck away from an obstacle, helping save your quarter pannel.

We released our flat deck step slider first, then the more trail-aggressive Sidewinder later. Both rock slider mounting systems are 100% bolt-on with no drilling. However, we developed a whole new way to mount the Sidewinder sliders. The new system is easier to install and eliminates the large U bolts we used with the step sliders. Due to this, we have also moved the Sidewinder mounting system to the step sliders. So now both are installed the same way. Full install video here.

We stock both models as well, so they are ready to ship raw immediately. Powder coating is available and adds 2 weeks. As of right now, we have a 5% off anything going on for Black Friday though the weekend. All orders using a discount code and over $950 earn MT4x4 Bucks of $100 to $200 for a future purchase.

We do not mount the same as the factory. Here's a short explanation of how and why we designed our mounting system the way we did.
Thank you.

I have them, love them and beat em up pretty good at UBB, Big Bear and Johnson Valley amongst other locations. The step aspect is perfect protrusion for clearance and they can support the weight of my packed out 4-door no problem on rocks or jacks. I’d be interested to understand how they couldn’t help and be happy to assist on any specifics you are seeking.
