Arizona - AC

Guys,

I'm looking into buying a new Bronco, but I have concerns about the AC. I currently have a Tacoma, which have notoriously bad AC for desert use and I don't ever want to end up in a similar situation again.

So my question is this: For anyone running a hard top Bronco here in the valley, how is the AC when it hits 110? Does it take half an hour to get down into the 70's? Or is it good to go after a few minutes?

Arizona resident here. the AC in the bronco is by far the best I've had in any car, ever. When I was rocking a soft top in 115 deg heat, it would get cold enough to freeze out the back seat residents without issue. On extremely hot days, even when parked in the sun, the AC will blow cold usually within 5-10 seconds.

100% agree with “HotdogThud”, live in valley and AC is very strong, it cools off pretty quickly with hardtop. I have 2dr but there’s not a whole lot more space in 4dr to where I wouldn’t think it would be a noticeable difference.

On a hot day we have off roaded with the top down and AC on--somewhat decadent but comfortable. Hot defined as in the 90's...

AZ here also (i've only had my bronco for 2 months so I can't give a AZ summer evaluation), I agree with most of the above. With NO rear air vents, I'm not sure you could freeze out the back seat passengers, but with Max AC and the dash vents on full it's more than enough AC for the front.

2 door hard top in Florida and it gets a different kind of hot here. The AC in this guy absolutely SLAPS! Gets cold quick and blows hard. Had a 23 gladiator before and it was now where near the same level, hats off to Ford.

My Bronco A/C rocks and is 2nd only to the walk in produce cooler at Costco. I have a soft top, so I do put a blanket between it and the mesh shade in summertime to help with heat transfer from that big hot yellow thing in the sky. No temperature related complaints from my daughter when riding in the back seat when it's > 110 out.

Remote start is awesome when walking out of the grocery store with a bunch of cold goods. Front and rear seat areas are mostly cooled down by the time the groceries are loaded. Trunk area takes a bit longer, but is usually reasonably cool by the time I make the 10 min drive home.

My only complaint is the placement of the left driver vent. I like to drive with my left hand around 9:00 on the wheel, which ends up in the air stream from the vent. After about 10 mins, my left hand is usually numb from the cold. I've taken to pointing it downwards to cool "other parts". Wish car makers would bring these back
