Its been a few weeks now and my apple carplay does not connect at all, wired or wireless. Sync bluetooth works but it disconnects and reconnects at least twice throughout my drive. I have tried everything from doing a hard reset (power button + arrow key), disconnecting my phone from the car and reconnecting, resetting my phone, and even getting a new USB. Still nothing, kind of frustrating since i use apple maps for majority of my long drives. I can't seem to find any other information for fixes other than a hard reset but that did not fix it. Anyone have any ideas?

I can ony suggest to pick up a dedicated compact Android device like Samsung S9, tape over device microphones, that velcros easily to bottom face of HVAC panel, use a high grade short data BtoC cable that tucks nicely into the console HVAC panel interface gap, along with dedicated Tablet data plan.

You' ll only have issues if you block auto updates to preserve data and fail to do it manually with wifi, then gets glitchy to let you know needs attention then just stops working untill updates are done, during which time Andoid downloads bloat ware, that then must all be deleted.

Iphone 15 pro, I doubt it would be a phone issue but more of a car issue?
Make sure you have the latest software update to be honest with you since I got my iPhone 17 Pro Max I’ve had zero issues with CarPlay. It has been fantastic.

I've had problems, but it's always been resoved by the hard reset on either the phone or the Bronco. Usually, shutting the Bronco off and turning it back on solves the problem for me if rebooting the infotainment system doesnt clear it.

I had issues early on in my 25 and they seem to have improved significantly. It’s still not 100% on wireless when the phone is in my pocket but cable connection is stable now. It’s an older iPhone 11. Just bought a 17 but not set up yet. Whether it was software updates by Apple or Ford that improved things, I don’t know.

I will say based on experience in multiple vehicles that using an Apple-approved cable (or not) can make a difference due to data transmission standards. I would experiment with different USB ports on the Bronco, too and make sure you are at least charging so you know the USB port isn’t dead or really dirty.

That's interesting, for full disclosure I don't use an apple branded cable and had never considered swapping cables. I do use a data cable rather than a charge cable.

I had this problem and found out after many attempts that my CarPlay on the iPhone was off. Go to the search button on your phone and enter CarPlay. The app will pop up and it will tell you if it's on or off. I didn't turn mine off so have no idea how that happened but once I turned it on, everything started working again.

I got my Bronco in 2023. I've used an iPhone 14 (iOS 26.2.1 now) with it since I got it and it had a lot of problems early on. I happen to think a lot of those were issues with the phone itself, but also some flakiness in Sync 4. I only use Bluetooth; Wifi just never wanted to work and I don't use the front plug for power.

It would freeze, I'd have to restart my phone several times, sometimes the screen went black and I'd have to stop and restart. Over time iOS and Sync 4 updates came out and seemed to make a difference (especially one for both iOS and Sync 4 in mid-2024 I think). I still periodically have to restart my phone when it freezes, and sometimes the sound goes out and I have to go to phone settings in Sync 4 and cycle it's CarPlay connection. That works for me. I do think it can be different for different people, though.

Came across this thread after a recent dealer update to my Bronco now has it not connecting to CarPlay whatsoever. Tried factory reset but no dice. Using a iPhone 17 Pro. Before it ran into issues probably every 5th start up and now no dice. Trying to find some resolutions before being stuck without it while they troubleshoot.

I use an iphone8 (seriously) and have not had issues. I use a genuine Apple USB cable.

Also try ultra high grade data cable from the boutique hifi sellers.....this is definitely something can rely on pumped up claims on 50 cent cables sold for $30

I have iPhone 11 with up to date iOS. I have no problem connecting to CarPlay. Only time I have issue of it disconnecting is when I try to use Google Maps or iPhone map to navigate. Once I hit start it disconnects. If I just have the map open with out driving directions no issues. My OnX app has no issues when showing directions. This is a newer issue for me, maybe the last couple months.

Went by the Apple store today in most popular mall and it was dead.....better just to get a compact android with data Velcro it to bottom of HVAC console for minimal issues, until it needs and update which you'll know because it stops working.

I suppose if you set updates to wifi only can do it automatically in the garage if have wifi there. Works pretty seamless but still feels like 2008 LOL.
