Every so often, my screen will not come on when I crank the engine. The Bronco on the screen will freeze. The screen will load in a couple of minutes, but my reverse camera is disabled until then. Not a major problem, just irritating. Anyone else have this problem/solution?

Disconnect negative terminal, wait a minute, reconnect. See if that clears it up.

My Bronco didn’t do it, but my Bronco Sport did many times, Ford couldn’t fix it. Me being tolerant, I traded it in. 😁

Hold down ā€œpower + fast forward (>>)ā€ on the head unit for about 5-10 seconds and that will restart the screen.
this also helps reboot android auto if it fails to connect while already in motion. It's so strange that you can't press the connect phone button unless stopped....

Have had it happen 3 times. Will try the Power/Fast FWD trick next time.

Every Ford I have owed has issues with the api module. Explorer, cmax and now my bronco. Ford service department said that they know it’s the cause of the crashing issues but that they are backlogged on replacements.

I have found that most often this happens in mine if I start it and take off driving before the Bronco animation has finished doing its thing. It’s happened a couple of times otherwise, but most often that’s the pattern I see.

When driving by high-power antenna the CarPlay Bluetooth will drop occasionally and this is high I reconnect as well.

There are different schools of thought on how long to let a car ā€œwarm upā€ before driving, but from what I’ve read letting the oil pressure build for about 20-30 seconds seems to be the consensus.

Most will agree that with modern engines and oil, it is useless to worry too much about oil temp (outside of the extremes) but ensuring pressure is built up throughout seems to have it benefit regarding longevity.

Doing that also lets the ECU and other processes do their thing.

Yes! I have seen this problem as well, exactly as you describe. I can’t say for sure, but it seems to be related to keyless unlock (I.e., using your hand to unlock). If I use the key fob for locking and unlocking, I seem to avoid this. Cannot explain the nexus…Also seemed to be related to the last ā€œautomaticā€ update. But…correlation is not causation. (ā€˜23 BADLANDS, non SAS, High).

Various intermittent issues include only sound from front speakers and no ā€œSoundā€ option in settings to check/adjust tone, balance, bass. Current issue.

This has happened in our 2019 Expedition. Just maybe 5 times in the past 5 years, so not often. It’s happened 2 or 3 times where I think the cause could have been starting and then putting in drive right away, computer didn’t follow through with turning on the radio. Then happened a couple times when remote starting. I don’t think I’ve gotten the reset sequence to start it though. I’ve usually shut the engine off at the first red light I get to, crack the drivers door to shut everything down, wait a few seconds, and restart.

Interesting. That is what I do with BRONCO when this occurs…
