Yes! So glad to see this thread and learn that it’s not just me. Just got my own Bronco last week and my knee hits the light switch every time I’ve exited the driver seat.
I’m 5’ 11 1/2.

Happens occasionally, but I think the bigger question is, your wife and son DON'T realize it when they exit the vehicle and just turn it back to auto or off? I know on the few times I've smacked my knee into it, it stung enough for me to check the dial to see if it spun. 🤷‍♂️
I hope they don’t realize it otherwise that means they are too dumb to care they are running their battery down. Had to get the jump box out for my son this morning.. Never have had this with any other vehicle!

Had this happen a few times already. I always check before closing the door.

My wife and son both have broncos. Numerous times I have gone into our garage late at night or in the morning to find headlights on. They are apparently hitting the knob with their knees as they exit. Anyone else having this issue?
huh nope

Mine does it all the time and I don’t think I hit it every time

6' 3" never a problem. Could it be some people tend to sit to close to the steering wheel? As a professional driver of 36+ years I look down in vehicles and see people sitting on top of the wheel all the time. Many other vehicles have a similar switch location with no issues.

At a cruise in tonight my buddies Bronco lights came on, defective switches is my guess. Bad batch of parts—maybe

Not even a little bit. And my F150 has the headlight knob in a similar position and I've never hit it once in 6 years. But the knob in the truck is about an inch higher from the floor than the one in the Bronco. In fact, upon taking measurements, the seat in my Bronco is actually an inch further away from the brake pedal than it is in my truck, yet I can still hit the knob in the Bronco.

I was going to post some pictures showing the difference in my leg-to-dashboard ratio between my two vehicles, but then I thought, why do I need to prove something to someone who doesn’t experience the same issue, and doesn’t believe anyone else could, despite the dozens of posts to the contrary over the past couple of years? So I’m not going to waste my time.

Nothing to do with height or hitting the knob. There is a known issue with the lights. They will just turn on by themselves and then off after a few minutes. It will sometimes be on "on" instead of auto when you get out so it dings. But it will often just do it on its own.

EDIT: Apparently you can go get it fixed.

Thank you kindly for this information. There ARE some intelligent folks on this site that share their knowledge. Too bad my dealer most probably is not aware of this issue or the existence of this corrective measure, I wasn't. Again, thank you kindly for sharing your research, Great work!

I hit that stupid switch too fucking often, for 2 years now lmao. Horrible location. But its impossible to miss when you do it, it will chime at you. What your seeing is the well known problem of headlights decide to turn themselves on, take it to the dealer they will get the switch replaced for you. Alot of us had to live with that for a long time until the new switch was designed and available.

Be advised there is a KNOWN ISSUE with the headlight logic board (it’s not just a regular “switch”) wherein the headlights will randomly come on after vehicle is parked and locked.

Had same issue with my 22 and the controller was replaced. No more random headlight activation.
