I don't really have an opinion about stick-on accessories myself. I'm in the "if you like it, it's cool for you" camp. But after reading another thread on this subject it seemed that most of the naysayers objected to the hood scoop because it's non-functional.
Well, why not make it functional? It's not difficult to cut an opening in a hood, and I believe there's enough structure in the hood to prevent warping (plus, the scoop itself might add a degree of sacrificed rigidity. Especially if you added some actual fasteners). If someone wanted to get really crazy they could build a shaker-type add on.
