Installed some new speakers and what a difference it makes. I don't have the B&O system but do have the 7 speaker factory setup. I installed S2-S40's in the dash and rear pods. It's probably the easiest install I've done to upgrade speakers. Less than 30 minutes total time.
Question for the audio experts. Would just replacing the sub make much of a difference or would it be better to just replace it and add an amp?

Although not an audio expert, I did find that the original programmable amplifier settings on my non-B&O factory sub in my 23 Big Bend were inadequate. When I did the same swap as you with infinity speakers, I also reprogrammed with Forscan for 2 ways in the new speakers as well as ensuring the subwoofer was enabled. What a difference. I actually had to turn the base way down in the audio settings and am quite pleased with the results. @RagnarKon has some excellent posts on the Forscan setup stuff for audio. Couldn't be happier.

Trust me, the upgraded system is no upgrade...

Adding an amp is the biggest bang-for-your-buck.

If you do replace your subwoofer at some point... then you'll also need a new amp for that subwoofer... which turns it into a rather pricey upgrade. So I personally think it's better to upgrade the amp on the other 6 speakers before looking at the subwoofer.

I run the Alpines S2's in the back and a set of components in the kick and front locations. I have the B&O made a difference in sound, but I still need to do the sub, and probably add the Kicker people add who have the B&O to get the good sound from the sub.

Thanks for the info. I haven't messed with Forscan yet. I have the cable and adapter but am a little overwhelmed when it comes messing with it.

100% What a disappointment for an "upgraded" sound system. Glad this forum exists, I was able to do a great upgrade for a "reasonable" amount of $$.
