Ok. I installed the kicker 6.5 pods from ssv today. Np. I knew there might not be much change in loudness, maybe a little. I have a 2002 obx sas with BO stereo system. I have heard yes and no that a forscan mod will help get some base to those pods since these is nothing right now. I am looking for a definitive answer and help. I am not looking for super loud. But would like some increased sound from those pods. Also I did turn it to surround which did seem to help. Not fully understanding stereo verse surround. Sorry this is not my wheel house. So simple answers and help would be much much appreciated. Thanks

With BO - no Forscan for you. You need an A2B DSP to make any changes

It's a $4K +/- upgrade to get a noticable volume lift.

You can get incremental lift with 3 ohm speakers (Hertz MP line) and speakers with > 90 sensitivity if you buy decent quality (>1.5K speakers and sub) you are ready for next phase which is AtoB module, DSP amp that equalized head unit signal, sub amp, sub enclosure plus all the work to install and tune adds another $3K+ hardware only.

You can try cheap out with kicker amp upgrade just buy from a place you can return if don't like, or who will give you new one on the spot when it fails.

I'm in that same boat already upgraded speakers plus sound deadener sub enclosure trying MB Quart out sound really good at volumes <18 with high res source like flac, wav, and 320 kbs all via USB.

I already have good DSP and sub amp along with JL 10" sub it's still going to cost me at least $1200 with three new 4" I need to buy plus the Ato B module, plus amp rack and whatever additional wiring etc need...+20% contingency haha.

There are the $5K plug and play list that will save you guesswork and headaches....

Installed the SSV pods as well but uses Infinity speakers with 93 dB sensitivity.
Put some sound deadening in the pods as well.
Clearly sound better and louder

Which Infinity Speakers did you install? I see multiple 93DB choices on Crutchfield?
