I have the 6 speaker (no sub) stock set up.

I initially upgraded the speakers (Rockford Fosgate R1) and added a sub (Kicker HS10) thinking that would get it done. Then I added the kicker key 200.4 and upgraded the speakers again (Kicker KS). Then I went to the 6 1/2 inch rear pods.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else?? It seemed like the soundstage was never going to be satisfactory. I’m not looking to wake the neighbors up, I just wanted to enjoy my music

So I called Joe at Plug N Play Kits again. He had previously recommended Musway to me, but the install scared me away. This time I followed his advice and bought the M6 pro. We separated the tweeters from the kicks -this is HUGE. so all six speakers are on their own channels as they should be (120 watts/channel). The sub is using the Musway’s pre-amp. Joseph at Musway tuned everything with Musway’s DSP app.

Everything finally sounds like it should! The tuning makes it sound like I have a center channel. The base is now everywhere, instead of sounding like it came from way in back. And the dash speakers are no longer overpowering everything else. And somehow my little HS 10 is keeping up perfectly.

Hopefully, I can save someone the time and energy (and money) that I’ve spent trying to fix the sound stage in the Bronco. I highly recommend this solution. Also, save your money upgrading the pods; It’s completely unnecessary.

Where did you end up installing the amp? Does it fit on the factory sub enclosure, or did you have to find another spot?

Mine is under the driver seat. If you don’t have a factory sub (I didn’t) there would be plenty of room. But I don’t know if you have a sub

Thanks for the quick reply. I have the ‘23 sub delete with a dummy amp & speaker with the enclosure. Looking to do the m6 pro for cabin speakers and a key 500.1 for a sub in the factory enclosure. I’m about to start taking things apart, so I’ll find out soon 😀

Can't beat analog system for DSP upgrade ....wish my OBX was analog just plug and play with the Audison AP BIT 8.9 sitting on shelf at the moment.

With B&O, now I need to drop even more after the $1400 spent on speakers and sub....cheapest next step is another $800 on AtoB and harnesses.

Letting my speakers bed in and loaded FLAC on S9 before doing anything else.....

I spent most of the day today figuring out where to mount the m6 pro and the key 500.1 and fabricating mounts for them. I managed to fit both of them behind the trim panel, but it’s a very tight fit. Tomorrow, I’ll run all of the cabling and post some photos when it’s all done.

I installed the Musway M6 Pro in my Bronco in Feb. I got mine from Joe at plugnplaykits as well in Dec 2024. If you want to check out my install below is the link for my post showing the custom mount I made for putting the amp in the passenger side footwell. Its the best amp upgrade!

**I ended up removing the kicker Key 200.4 amp after a few months, so now the rear 4inch speaker pods are only powered by the factory system. There is no need to power them since they're only good for the background. The front speakers are all powered thru the M6 Pro.

I’ve read through your thread numerous times already. It’s been very helpful, but I wouldn’t be able to keep the kids’ feet away from that. I got mine through Joe as well, and he’s been great to work with. I have managed to get both in the passenger cargo area, but will have to remove a small bit of trim (but it’s hidden behind another panel. It’s taking me forever, but that’s expected with all of the disruptions I’ve had.

I know how you feel. It took me over a month just to get prepped to install everything and I still ended up tweaking the wiring especially removing the Kicker Key amp months later. I'm happy my post helped you with your install too.

I could see how kids might kick their feet up into that area if the seat was really close to the dash. However, I'm not sure if they would do any real damage to the amp based on how it's tucked up under the dash. I guess if I used steel or Aluminum as the mounting plate that would really help protect it instead of the PVC Sintra board I used. I don't have any kids so I can't test it out lol. I tested it out and my friend did too, and you really have to stretch out your legs/feet to try and reach it if the seat is back at a comfortable spot.

Hidden behind the cargo panel is a good option that I considered originally.

I'm saving my pennies working up for this - this thread is inspiring.

I’ve completed all the writing today and working through the Musway configuration. I’m having an issue with the Key picking up signal from the RCAs out of the M6 Pro. Did you have to run the remote out from the Musway to the Key?

Yes I had to run the remote out blue wire from the M6pro to the Kicker key amp along with rca wires. That is the one wire we always forget about lol!

I have had everything installed for about a week now, and I'm very happy with the sound overall. I replaced all of the factory speakers with the Hertz Cento line (CX100 in the dash, C165L in the kick panel and CX165 in SSV pods for the back) and placed a Rockford 8" sub that I had laying around in the factory sub box. As I mentioned, the install was very tight behind the trim panel, and ultimately I had to do a little trimming of the panel to get everything to fit the way that I wanted it. I ended up running new speaker wire from the amp to the dash and used the existing speaker wire for the kicks and pods. Here's a photo of everything before I secured all of the wiring with zip ties to show where I placed everything.

I ended up moving the Key 500.1 a little further down, but there's only so much that you can move it due to the fasteners which have to go just above the Musway amp. In order to move the Key, I had to remove a little of the factory trim, but it is covered by another piece of trim, so you don't see it. Circled area below to show the area I had to remove (and one fastener from the piece of trim). A Dremel with a cutting wheel worked wonders there, and in hindsight, I wish that I would have used that on the sub enclosure instead of the jig saw.

Tuning the Musway was pretty straightforward, but I a still can't get the BTA2 to connect to the iPhone app so that I can switch configurations. That will be a task for another day.
