I just installed the AS2 over the weekend. Anyone else notice hood flutter since installing?

I have had it installed for about two months now with no issues regarding the install. I installed on a warm day, left it outside (in my garage) for a day or two "to come up to temp" before installation. I also used a roller to ensure the automotive 3M tape was completely sealed to the hood.

Only issue I have is there is a slight whistle around the driver's side edge of the deflector. Guess it's radio volume up and windows closed forever.

Don't forget to use the adhesion promoter wipes. Those are key for a good bond.

I had the regular Ford deflectors (not the II version with the rear hump) on (2) Ford Maverick trucks with zero issues. They both absolutely fit like a 2nd skin and were not coming off. Granted they probably didn't push air much higher over the hood, but there was zero turbulence and 100% hood leading-edge protection.

I see there's an Aeroskin smoked version (non II with the hump) available for Boncos.....

good luck....

I have had it on my Bronco since day 1, July 2022. No fitment issues....I did put a little clear silicone at both ends upper edge. I have found that it deflects air/bugs/stuff much higher up on the windshield. This combined with ExoShield...not one rock chip. I like the look and it does what it is designed to do.

Two years on. No window breaks! lots of pings.....
Softtop is noisy, can't know if that makes it worse or not....
Hood flutter was nuts. Even after screwing the adjusters all the way, ended up adding some chair scuff bottom thingies....

My hood fluttered less after I installed it - but yes, my hood does still flutter some.

there are other posts on this forum addressing the hood flutter as well.
Most of the threads I looked at said to adjust your bump stops inside the engine bay to address this.
I would most likely still have mine on if it didn't have that bump up on it. It tends to direct the air much higher, but like I said it created a lot of turbulance on the very top of the roof which I didn't care for with the soft top and even when the top was down.

I just adjusted the bump stops tonight and still have a lil more height if needed. Thanks for the responses

With a few turns on the bump stops to fine tune, I have removed all excessive hood flutter at hwy speeds. Simple fix!

I've had mine for about four months with no issues. More often than not, I've found YouTube videos are better than the instructions that come with most accessories. I guess I like to learn from other user's experiences. Pre-fitting, marking with painter's tape, removing only a small piece of the 3M tape backing in the center, "tacking" in to place then peel a little more and press, peel a little more and press seemed to work best for me and reduced the possibility of gaps. Personally, I don't think I would go the clear silicone route as it would yellow over time wouldn't it? That would look like crap on my Oxford White.

Windshield chips and paint chips on the highway lead me to install one. At this point my only complaint is good shimmy. Other then that, daily high speed highway travel with no issue to date.

Takes a few seconds with an exacto knife.

I recommend and would 100% install the deflector again. Matches the flares and overall look of the Bronco.
An exacto knife is just the thing to start the plastic peel off the 3M foam adhensives. I used that technique when I installed my Ford Performance (corner) Body Armor, which match the flares and the Aeroskin. Here's the left rear corner body armor, after plowing through some very heavy brush overhangs in Quebec. Scratched the armor--I'm okay with that--not the paint. Next to it is the MEKMagnet body armor, a heavy vinyl covering that goes over the rest of the truck with a removable adhesive.

Here's a larger shot of the truck with the MEKMagnet (but not the Performance corner body armor). Looks pretty good on carbonized gray, if I do say so myself. My pattern is "Topo." This is my 2nd year's use of the MEKMagnet. You'll notice that getting it to stay down flat is a bit of a problem. But it protected the truck body.
