The original owner of Glassworks Unlimited was Tim. John worked there during that time. I believe they are father/son (same last name). So if they did change names they will probably have John's wife listed as the owner, or some other family member.

It probably would help - sadly.
The average person might look up a company they want to buy from, but that doesn’t mean their past history and other companies will come up. Only super sleuths like on B6G get into those weeds.
It wouldn’t be a 100% clean slate for them, but it wouldn’t hurt. Look at how their former company, before ADV, came to light here until we (myself included) knew.

They took $7k from a TON of people promising to deliver them a hard top. Then dragged people out 6 months, 1 year, 2 years. Then told everyone they couldn't deliver, citing fraud from their supplier. Then screwed everyone (many) out of their money. All while spending millions to buy new equipment for their venture.
Stay away.
