I do want to thank you for bringing up our OF over and over. We get new people signing up every time you do and make lots of money on it so it doesn’t bother us any since we don’t personally promote it much at all but still are in the top .1% of earners on the site and that’s mostly thanks to people talking crap and posting about. I’ve also been reading along for the fun and excitement.

If APG is a supplier and ADV is just a distributer, why wouldn’t they just let them sell their product? Makes no sense on the surface, so there are some other factors in play.

Theory One: The costs to make the tops went up dramatically in the last couple of years and neither party wants to eat the loss for the advanced sales, and APG had better contract lawyers.

Theory Two: The development cost to bring the product to market was a lot higher than anticipated and again, neither party wants to eat the cost and APG had better contract lawyers.

Theory Three: Both One & Two.

Theory Four (The Wild Card theory): APG is looking to sell the designs of their top and/or the whole company and cash out to the highest bidder and they don’t want the ADV deal on the books dragging down the value of their company, in part due to Theory One and Two.


As a side note on @LiteBrite
I’m not really sure why LiteBrite gets dragged into this, they are just entertainers who promote/or talk about other companies for money/trade/likes, whether it’s suspensions, exhausts, tires, or whatever – who cares? They are YouTubers trying to make a buck, no one should fault them any more than any other celebrity endorsement on the internet, television, or any other media source.

With that said, they would probably do better by not getting involved in this fiasco, if for no other reason, than that people are legitimately upset after being ripped off for thousands of dollars. And APG at the very least, helped promote ADV’s lies and never once publicly refuted any claims ADV was making about the tops they were supplying to them. To which APG cannot claim ignorance, however Kevin and Brittney can, at least at the time they made the deal with APG to promote their pro runner and hard top.

The flip side of this, is that they are probably stuck in this deal for a period of time and have no other choice than follow though contractually, or pay their way out of it, if that’s possible. All this is just theories on my part, but makes sense, at least to me.

Anyway, I’m not here to defend LiteBrite just pointing out the misplaced aggression.

At least someone is thinking logically here about it. We were tagged and drug into this and now of course have people bashing us which is par for the course. We get it, not everyone likes us, not everyone hates us but we have absolutely nothing to do with any of this. We were given a prototype hard top from another shop vehicle to test out while the production units are completed. We knew nothing about any of this at all on any side. People just saw we got a top and wanted to start burning us at the stake. Hopefully more people feel as you do and there are just a few loud jerks in here wanting to stir shit and watch things burn. I do hope everyone gets their money back or the top they ordered. They are amazing tops for sure.

I also want to thank everyone who is flooding my inbox to apologize for the people being rude on this forum. You don’t need to apologize for these people but it is much appreciated. We’re going to stay out of this from here on out so please just DM me if you have any questions or concerns. I won’t be giving any more negative people any more attention. Why did APG make a claim about being the sole developer of the hardtop in their letter, while previously stated otherwise (post #14), and then scrub that content when it was pointed out that they previously stated it as such?

It gives the appearance of trying to cover your tracks. Except for the fact that I don't believe posts on this forum are ever really deleted. I've heard that they just become invisible to public view. I imagine if that is true, a good lawyer could retrieve that and any other missing posts.

This! This x 10000. LB made it about them when they started to defend APG. They could have just said they are not involved and that's it. Defending a company that pushed people to send money to another company for the tops they were designing and not delivering is devious.
