Ugh. Sorry, I was hoping to be one of your customers but the price I had in my head was around $3800 and I really don't feel that was unreasonable when considering that all I wanted was a simple 1 piece unpainted top with no wiper or defroster.

I am down for one since it is cheaper than what Ford will offer and it would still be made by Webasto and we know they can't find their ass with both hands and a spotter. Looks like a road trip to Costa Mesa, CA for an install. Well worth it if you ask me. Can't wait 'til Feb. 28 to preorder.

Other folks on this thread are right - the weekly roll-out is straight up juvenile.

Yes, from a marketing perspective it worked. You got as many eyes as possible - however, from this point forward you will be losing folks as you have priced some out. Your captive audience will not get larger.

If we are going to pre-order we need ALL the information.

all pricing, all ship cost estimates, all details surrounding defrost/wipers...etc, we need pictures of it in real life, we need an actual timeline, we need to know if its actually quieter, and what specifically about this top made by ADV makes it high quality.
Well, if it’s built in California, that’s a cost increase just due to location alone. There’s a reason people are leaving the state en masse. Maybe they need to move production someplace more centralized. They’d get cheaper labor rates, cheaper business rates, provide better shipping options and reduce pricing.

Depending on final timing and shipping price to the east coast, I’m pretty sure I could place an order for a new Bronco today, avoid any of the known constraints aside from MIC, take delivery and trade in my current soft-topped Bronco sooner and for less overall net cost.

But depending on that timing and shipping (and the added cost of wiper/defroster functionality), I may have to go for this. I have a baby on the way, I took the soft top gambling that Ford would have the MIC available for sale sooner.

Definitely out of my price range. At $3500, I may have been able to afford one in a year or two. But at $6,000, I prefer to option in the SAS package and get more functionality out of my vehicle than more luxury. It's not like I'm dealing with a leaky roof. We all knew soft tops were going to be loud, but that also came with the advantage of being able fold them down during the warmer months. At the end of the day hardtops (for those that chose to go soft) are an option and not a necessity.

Definitely a good looking product but it's priced where it is because some will purchase and ADV will still profit from smaller sales number at a higher price point and they don't have to deal with overflowing orders that lower price would have brought.

We'll have to see how Patriot Fastbacks' offering turn out.

Nothing yet about it on their web site, but based on what they've been letting out via Facebook, it looks like their first offering for the Bronco will be very similar to this one that they have out for the J••p. Their price for this one is $3,881.25 , so I assume the price will be similar for the Bronco version.

Here's the rendering that they've put out so far for their Bronco version:

We'll have to wait and see when both companies' products hit the market, and we start hearing from those who've bought them, but it looks to me like of the two, Patriot Fastbacks is going to have the much better product of the two at a lower price.

I was expecting that with a more basic product, Advanced Fiberglass Concepts would offer it at a lower price, but it looks like that is not the case.
I'm more impressed with this one and it's far less money.
With which one? The Patriot Fastbacks top?

I'm much more impressed with it than with ADV's, at least so far. What I was expecting to be its downfall is the price. Turns out, ADV's top is more expensive, and as far as is apparent to me, nowhere near as good.

The Patriot top looks like a lot of thought has gone into it. It appears to be taller than any offering from any source which would translate into more cargo space and an overall more spacious feeling.
That's my impression as well.

I think the primary reason that it's taller is to accommodate the built-in light bar, with more headroom and cargo space being a bonus side-effect.

Patriot Fastbacks also makes a point of boasting about how sturdy, and how well-insulated their tops are. Those are very strong selling points for me.

Our innovative MULTI-CAPSULATED sound dampening insulation is sandwiched between multiple layers of hand laid composite materials, providing a substantial sound deadening effect, letting you enjoy a normal level of conversation as you cruise down the road. Each top has a custom headliner made from the highest quality, mildew resistant materials available to our team of engineers and designers. We have spent hundreds of man hours designing our products to best fit your needs. We understand that the “Jeep thing” doesn’t have to mean the “noisy thing”. There is nothing like hearing the FAINT roar of those knobby tires as you roll down the highway towards your destination. We want your thoughts to be clear, not drowned out, as you navigate through your next life adventure.

I like the big Patriot hardtop, some dont [sic] and thats [sic] fine but I agree with this opinion. I will say I recall seeing a post here at some point where Patriot estimated $4500-$5500 depending on options so sadly I dont [sic] think it will be much more affordable in the end.
Even if the price winds up being about the same, Patriot certainly looks like it's giving something much better for the money.

To be fair to Webasto, they have a very long history of making roofs and roof components for far fancier cars than the Bronco, and have generally had a very good reputation.

Somehow, they managed to f••• up their attempt at making a roof for the Bronco, and their efforts to unf••• it have so far, not been terribly successful.

I would've expected them to be in the mid 4s, but with a 2022 supply chain and rampant inflation to deal with nothing surprises me anymore. Get 'em before the prices go up, folks.

Everyone needs to calm down and be patient. I know being Bronco buyers that’s the last thing we want to hear. But they are charging $7k optioned up and shipped because they can. They can for the same reason $53k new Broncos are selling for $73k with 1000 miles on them. Supply chain issues resulting short supply of high demand items. They are one of the first out of the gate.

I always planned to enjoy my soft top 3-5 years, and then see what different competitors have popped up with, once the rush is over. When there are five years of Broncos running around, after-market and used tops will be more in line with Wrangler options in choice and pricing.

If you want to be first for an un-tested top in today’s economy, you pay the luxury tax.
