Adding Front Camera to Base Bronco?

I hooked up a cheap amazon camera. It broadcasts via wifi signal to one of my old tablets (kids fire 8", I think). I utilized aux 5. The camera is in the front camera relocation bracket, it didn't fit but was pretty easy to modify.

I'm thinking this camera:

$40 for proof of concept, the mount should fit in the 2 screw holes on the front (license plate bracket that I removed) and an old phone or whatever inside for viewing, wired to Aux 5. When not in use, I'll remove it and tuck the wiring back inside the grill. Easy solution.

Naviks just told me to use this video:

Then afterwards remove the screen with the 4 screws and you'll be able to access and install the harness and let the camera and accessory power provided dangle underneath

Exactly the video I was looking for to gauge how doable or not this is - little wary of digging that deep into the dash thanks for sharing

So the ad says the camera for Synch4 is for use with 12 inch screens. I thought the 12 inch came with ff cam, unless Everglades.

Thanks for the link. Little pricey I have a badlands with the front camera but I’m looking to put an aftermarket camera that plugs In factory wire harness. I have lights that block the camera. I’ve tried a relocation kit with no luck.

Would love to add but don't feel comfortable tearing into dash, installation will probably be $300+, so I guess I am not doing this until a few people try it and confirm that it works,

Recently installed the Naviks option on my BaseSquatch along with a Nakita camera.
Pain to install with how far the dash has to come apart but otherwise excellent operation.

How to you activate the camera once it's installed? The website says that you hold the power button for 7 seconds but I don't know which power button they are referring to.

Just did a search and came across this thread, probably was looking for it a year ago. Not sure if you would know the answer, but I clicked on the link you posted.

In the trims that do have the front camera, isn't there an icon within SYNC to get to them? Which now has me wondering (and yeah wrong thread), but if this camera is plug and play, wouldn't it be conceivable that we could turn on the camera icon through ForScan?

Attempted the Naviks install with an amazon natika camera on my 7MT Badlands base (no mid package) and unfortunately naviks does not support the manual transmission, yet.

If they get a 7MT test mule in NY they said they'd call me back after they get it working and available for sale.

I could get the camera to work after moving out of reverse when the "reverse image delay" setting was turned on, but it'd cut out at like 3pmh and the other feature, nav in motion, didn't work for whatever reason.

Don't look forward to doing this whole process again.

Any update from Naviks? Their site has no info.

Camera works like it came stock. Turns on for 8 seconds when I put the car in drive and I can press the menu button on the steering wheel for 5 seconds anytime to bring it up.

Ha, sorry, that was a bonehead move! I fixed the camera link in my first post. I’ll upload a photo of the display when I drive home. So far I really like the set up. It’s so hard to see over the giant hood, especially if you are vertically challenged like me, I’ve already found it very useful.
