Update: the dealership responded to my survey and a customer relations rep contacted me about it. I requested to meet with a new service advisor and a tech about the wastegate and brake issue. The rep set up an appointment for me. When I arrived to dealership - the rep was clueless, and tried to defer my issue to the previous service rep. I had to explain everything to him, despite email correspondence that was shared ahead of time. He made a few calls and magages to find a tech who asks me to once angain explain what the issues are.

We pull the truck into the service area and tech takes a look at the wastegate rod. He explains the parts purposes, and says he understands why I would be dissatisfied with the noise, but the part is functioning as intended. He was about to wrap up, before I reminded him about the brake issue.

At this point another tech is strolling by and joins the party. One tech presses the brake pedal while the other places his head into the engine bay. They both hear the clicks and appear puzzled. Their initial reaction is the brake pedal should not be clicking this way and could be a brake booster issue. The tech accompanies me to the service desk and informs the service rep as such. I ask the rep for a shuttle service to my job nearby and he says ok. I wait around for 15 minutes, after which I reminded him about my request for a shuttle. He then initiates the request (to the wrong address).
- Oof; thankfully that was an easy fix.

A couple of days later (yesterday) - service rep calls and tells me pick up my truck because nothing is wrong with it and everything is normal. When I pressed the rep about what the initial tech told both of us at time of inspection/drop off, the rep didn’t know how to respond and told me he’d ask his manager to call me same day. I never got that call. Needless to say, dealership experience with the service reps is atrocious.

So - I guess I have no choice but to accept these off-putting vehicle characteristics for now. It just sucks. I am considering pursuing other avenues for resolution/explanation of how these issues are normal or trading it in for another brand altogether.

if anyone knows how I can contact Ford Corporate without snail mail - please share.

If anyone is curious - don’t waste your time messaging with Ford Motor Co on here. All they do is refer you to your nearest dealership. it’s probably why they ask for DM instead of posting directly in the thread.

Sounds like it may be worth a drive to a different dealership if this one is not satisfactory. My husband goes to one an hour away because he can't stand our local dealer (different make)... And has had much better experiences.

I had a similar experience with Planet Ford in Humble.

I took it in because the hard top makes noise when driving at high way speeds. You can see gaps where the hard top meets the body, I can stick a pen through the gap. It's annoying to listen to when driving.

Anyway, they had it a week and like you they couldn't replicate the issue. I asked about the the obvious gap and if they could fix it and the dude tells me to keep an eye on it as it could "seal itself up"

How the hell is it going to seal itself up? Anyway, I lost all confidence in them after that comment and picked up the vehicle. I'll try another dealership at another time.

The brake noise, does it sound like it is coming from the engine bay or underneath the dash? To me it kinda sounds like something is rubbing up against the pedal arm when you step on the brake. As far as the waste gate actuator, give it a squirt of PB Blaster and see if that rectifies he issue

@Jazer and @OscarHTX I’ve been to two dealerships. They hold my vehicle for days/weeks then hit me with the ole “we can’t replicate” and/or “this is normal behavior”. I’ve wasted too much time.

@BlueBronco the brake click is coming from the brake pedal area and you can hear it in the engine bay too. Thanks for tip on wastegate actuator

Update: after much back and forth with the dealership personnel, they replaced a smart junction control box and/or body control module to address the brake issue. I picked up my vehicle yesterday and brake clicking seems to be gone; hoping it stays that way for good. Dealer notes state “…noise no longer excessive…”. Slick. They had also led me to believe they were also going to fix the wastegate actuator rod squeal issue, but when I picked up me vehicle - they hit me with the “no, the part functions fine…there’s no issue”. Service Manager told me they replaced the brake issue components out of goodwill/courtesy, and not due to any defects with. Interesting. Anyway - im glad they at least finally addressed the brake issue. I’ll try what BlueBronco suggested above and see if that helps with squeal issue. I’ll reiterate that in my experience, the service reps were terrible: not knowledgeable, no follow ups, etc etc. I had better luck communicating with the dealership’s customer relations rep (she was great and did her best to advocate on my behalf). Tip: I was contacted directly by customer relations rep after submitting a negative survey about my experience.

Well, hopefully this is a permanent fix for your brake clicking issue. I have had several Ford's over the past 40 years including 2 Broncos (1993 XLT and 1996 Eddie Bauer), 2 Explorers, 2 Edges, Fiesta ST, Mustang GT and a soon to be third Bronco (Badlands) which is currently on a rail car enroute.

Every Ford dealership that I have frequented for service seems has problems with their service advisors communicating in a regular and timely fashion. The service advisors all seem to be genuinely nice people, however they just don't generally get back to me when they said they would. They need to understand that it is OK to call a customer and let them know that the techs are working on the issue and still haven't arrived at a solution.

Unfortunately there is not much that you can do about it because obviously the management team doesn't care enough to follow up with the service advisors to let them know that communication is a huge part of their job. As others have said you may want to shop around for a different Ford dealer, but that is no guarantee that they will be better than the last Ford dealer you used.

I have the same squealing noise coming from my 2023 Bronco. Took it in investigate the noise at a Ford dealership and was told that everything was fine and the part was functioning properly, and they then quoted the SSM 51465, and said it was just a result of the cars built at this time. Extremely frustrating as Every time I start the car there’s about 5-6 loud squeals that make the car sound like something is not right.

The dealership was unhelpful and borderline rude as they just dismissed me and said good luck if you want to escalate this to Ford as they’ll just refer you back to us.

Let me know if the truck BlueBronco suggested works, and I’ll give it a try?
