Hey All,

Black Friday arrived a New York Minute after taking delivery of my Badlands 2-door. I was surprised (my bad) that there were no fog lights and I didn't fully have time to consider my options before placing an order for my fog light kit. I've revisited my choices since the DD kit arrived and I've put in a follow-up order with 4x4 that fine tunes those choices. This has given rise to a few misc questions as I move forward...

1) anyone know the torx driver size to remove / swap lens from a SSC2? Its far smaller than anything I have in my toolbox.

2) since I am swapping in an amber fog lens into one of my sets of SSC2's, I will easily be able to rotate the lens to sit correctly within the upside-down KR bracket mount. What about my SS3 fog lens - does that also need to be rotated 180 to aim correctly? I assume that the SSC2 Spot lens needs no adjustment since the lens is a pass thru (?).

3) I'm a total newbie on installing aftermarket electronics into a car. I recognize the need to disconnect the battery before proceeding. Seems like undoing the neg connection would suffice - any gotchas to keep in mind? And finally, is there anything I need to know as far as rebooting the Bronco's computer system etc once I am finished?

4) Finally, I've revisited my original choice to NOT get a backlit SS3 and ordered a new set that has backlighting. This leaves me with a pair of SS3's without a home. I may pass them along at a loss. But before I do, I am wondering if there's a small bracket or kit to add them to the factory bush bar or somewhere on the modular bumper. With the bush bar and my license plate bracket filling bolts top and bottom of the bumper, I am thinking I've just about run out of mounting space there. If anyone has added a small 2 light setup and liked what they got, I'd love to see what you did. I don't expect to do any deep off road wandering, but one never knows. At the very least, they may offer up some nice campsite setup illumination.

Thanks in advance! for any insight into any of the above.

We sell the bit on our site. It's a TP40 bit. you can find a kit on amazon that has lots of sizes OR just buy the single bit:

https://www.4x4truckleds.com/ip40-bit-for-1-4-and-3-8-square-drive-torx-plus-bit-socket/

I don't know which kit you have, but SS3 don't need to be rotated/flipped. Their bracket mounts in the CENTER of the light so the light can hang right-side up. SSC2 DO hang up-side down since the bracket is not mounted centered. So you'll want to flip the bezels around. You DO NOT need to flip the lenses around UNLESS they are SAE/DOT Fog. Then you want to flip the lenses since there is a slight arc to the output. On the back of the lens are 2 small plastic indexing tabs (used when they construct the lights). Just shave those 2 tabs off and you can now flip the lens around

You don't need to disconnect the battery. Our instructions tell you which upfitter wires to tap into so you just have to crimp our harness onto the upfitter. You'll just need a crimping tool and a wire sripper is all. And an 8mm socket for the ground log which is right above the upfitter wires.

I don't know what you ordered (order #s) but you can put the extra lights up on your pillar for example. You can mount them on the bumper on the corners as well but im not a fan of that look, but a few customers have done that.

Thanks for the follow up Adam.

Doh! on the SS3 rotate. Of course.

I picked one of these up from you to handle the modular bumper bolts. I haven't tried it, but the tiny screws on the back of the SSC2 bezel seem much smaller.

Thanks. A few videos on installing these and other aftermarket LEDS all mention the battery disconnect. Happy to not have to.

You need a different bit for the Diode Dynamics lights. I recommend just buy a universal kit that contains lots of different size torx bits

" Tools Needed: T10 Torx Bit "
I can confirm the the T10 bit was what is needed to swap lens on the CCS2.
