A/C issue

Anyone else have their a/c lose its mind when the ambient temp is the same as the set temp? If I have it set at, say 68 and the exterior temp is 67-69ish, the AC blower just stops then will blow little cold puffs intermittently unless changing the set temp to manual fan speed.

Sounds like the a/c has satisfied the temp in the space at the set point. A/C's do not blow constant cold air if the set point has been reached. Usually the fan will continue to blow, but it won't blow conditioned air (hot or cold) if the set point has ben reached. It should start working once the temp rises about 3-5 degrees above the set point temp.

I would just turn it off auto.
There's really no point to having it on when the temperature you're requesting is the same as the exterior temperature.

Maybe I wasn't clear...the BLOWER STOPS. It does not turn back on even after the inside temp gets warm again. It only puffs quick shots of air every minute or so. The AC essentially turns off and stops conditioning air...

There is one main reason to have it on even if the ambient temp is at our near requested temp which is not having to constantly adjust the fan up and down to match interior loading like having 4 adults in the vehicle adding to the interior heat/humidity. Just ignoring it isn't really a solution. I've owned almost every model of Ford made since the 90s and every other model with auto mode works on auto just fine, so I'm asking because this appears to be different.

Yup. The HVAC in the Bronco is very unique. Ford made some "bold and interesting" design changes with it compared to other vehicles, and most of our efforts to question those Bold and Interesting changes have resulted in Ford telling us it's working as intended.

I don't like it, you apparently don't like it either - but it is what it is: loaded with quirks, eccentricates, and oddities that only a Ford Engineer could justify as normal.

Just wait until you want your feet to be warm. The HVAC is my second biggest annoyance on the Bronco - right behind Floppy Windows, and just ahead of crappy interior plastic, playskool instrument cluster, and Sync 4 software issues.
