$500 deposit to order?!

Anybody else being asked to pay $500.00 to order a 2022 Bronco? I'm going to the dealer tomorrow, and was told it'll be a $500.00 deposit, although Ford still says $100.00?!

Mine was $2000; More importantly would get it in writing that it is refundable right up to the point of the VIN being issued.

When your dealer asks for the additional deposit, that's your opportunity to get the final cost in writing. That's exactly when you lock in your deal, IN WRITING.

So, while $500 is a deposit, with a signed purchase agreement, you also have an enforceable contract.

$500 is the standard deposit to order or even to hold one thats in transit to the dealer. Just make sure that the deposit goes towards your actual purchase price and confirm purchase price wont be marked up

There is no "standard" deposit. I put nothing down when I ordered my FE and my Badlands. Matter of fact I had already had the $100 back from my FE as I switched dealers.

I put down a grand last March. In return, the GM signed a statement that my Bronco will have no ADM.

We had to put $500 down on my wifes Bronco Sport order from a local dealer but on my Bronco order from Long McArthur Ford $0.

$500-$1000 is common here in NM. You won't find any dealers doing it for less.

I switched dealers because my local dealer wasn't on the available dealer list. The dealership just changed hands. (Corwin Ford in Reno, NV.) When I went in to place the actual order they charged me a $500 deposit.

No, but I had to with my 2021 Bronco, LOL.

No worries, they just took it off the price when I picked it up.

I ordered my Wildtrak in the first minute of the website going live in 2020. Plunked down $3,000 at Lithia Ford in Boise, ID and left with a signed agreement to buy at MSRP in February 2021. Took delivery in January 2022 and almost forgot they had my money because I was so amped to bring home my Bronco -- the sales rep reminded me.

Are you sure that's legal, I spoke with many dealers, all said any deposit is refundable. What if you don't like the Bronco upon delivery? Now they have your truck and your money. Or they charge an ADM and now you're pressured because they hold a thousand dollar carrot on a stick in front of you. I'd look into that. That seems fishy to me.

Not sure about legality since I recently moved to NC.

That said I have a purchase agreement and am Z plan so I don't expect them to try anything. Doesn't mean they won't, but I'm optimistic.

Mine was $1500 & I was also given a signed order sheet honoring MSRP so I didn't really sweat it.
