This thread is a bit silly.

Should we start a thread that says "Over $5k for a garage opener!?"

Crazy isn't it? Ought to be standard equipment these days. Playing around in my wife's RAV, I've learned that I can live without it. After swearing I'd never get another vehicle without it. And can we talk about heated steering wheels and the freakin' garage door opener??? I don't need a $2000 sound system, ears are too old to hear it now.
For $2000 I’m sure you can get a way better sounding marine sound system for 1/2 the price

I say do it. The whole point of buying a higher trim is to get access to more options. The differences between trims isn't substantial enough to warrant the price increase otherwise.

  • Front Row Heated Seats [Not available on BD and BL trims]
Has it been verified that they didn't run the power for a seat heater in the standard BL seating through the center console or underfloor? (conflicting reports from Ford reps and the B&P)

So... if anyone wants a heated steering wheel and heated seats in a Badlands (a $695 cold weather package option on a Rubicon Wrangler, their stated direct competitor), they have to add the lux for the steering wheel and the leather in the BL for a combined increased price of ~$7280 (getting leather, carpeting, and a bunch of stuff they may not want.) to get them.

Full disclosure; I gritted my teeth and decided to pop for the lux in my 2-door MT BL to get the radio, nav, and heated steering wheel (anyone over the age of 50 will feel me on needing heated things north of the Mason-Dixon line), however if Ford wants me to go another $2195 in the hole to add leather and carpet that I don't want, to get seat heaters that are stated as included in the mid package (2-door, so not even adding power seats), they can go fish.

I will hold my reservation (if the reservation cut off dates are to be believed) for a MY2022 and see what happens between now and order time.

Adaptive cruise control is fantastic. But if you don’t use cruise a lot it’s a waste of money to buy the luxury package because you want that 1 feature. It works very well in my Challenger and I don’t have the issue other posters have. But i have almost 500 horsepower so it doesn’t matter if the car slows down, it’ll be back up to speed 2 seconds later.

Really can't be sure. I guess it's something to keep an eye on. Wonder how much after market heating would cost.

I'm in the same boat ... I can't get it on BD and am honestly considering not getting the vehicle just because of this issue. This will be my daily driver and if I'm paying over $40k on a modern vehicle, I need it to have this and don't see justification in the $10k upgrade of BD vs. BL w/Lux. I could care less about all the other High/Lux "upgrades".

Not to be a dick.. but it’s like people have never bought a new car before. Let alone order one. Which is my preference.

Thanks for the input! That helps me lock in the decision to not get it.

I understand that Lux comes with several other features, but ACC was the only Lux feature I cared about.

My preference would be for Ford to offer the Safe & Smart package that is available on the non-base Mustang, Escape, and Explorer.

ACC on its own is just eh cause you still have to pay attention and keep the car in the lane lol. This bronco has ACC WITH lane keep aid which i believe keeps the vehicle centered for you as well. Those in combination make it worth it cause it really takes the fatigue out of long road trips or even traffic since it works from a stop as well. Im hoping it goes a step further with semi autonomous driving with a future update like the 2021 F150 is getting. Wishful thinking on that last part haha

You must not own a boat. JL Marine Audio or Fusion is sick expensive. Of course several now integrate with chart plotters and run on a NMEA 2000 Bus. Most wake boats have sound systems that easily cost what the Lux package costs on a Bronco.
