As a perspective buyer, I have been trying to decide between a wildtrack and a badsqatch. I have seen some deals on badlands (non sas), and that brings the question what's necessary to run 35s on a badlands? Wheels, perch collars, spacers :(, spacer lift :(, new tires obviously, any calibrations...

It seems doable but it seems that it would be easier to get a WT or BL sas.

Also if the BL has power seats is that leather or MGV?

Thank you

Our 2024 Badlands (non Sas) has power leather seats (Lux package). My wife’s 2023 Badlands has manual MGV seats. I don’t think the power seats were offered with MGV (someone can check me on that). Also, from what I’ve read on this site, we can remove the crash bars and run 35s without rubbing.

Just remove the crash bars and find wheels in the +15 to +35 range, nothing else needed.

You could recalibrate the speedo but it became more accurate when I went 33s to 35s so I left it alone personally.

I believe the general consensus is that unless you are really going to trick this thing out with some wild aftermarket suspension and wheels, it is preferable to get the sasquatch package from the factory. The parts are all under warranty, the CV angles are in check, you get the upgraded steering rack and tie rods, and the gearing will be appropriate for the tire size.

You can go through and do things relatively cheaply with a non-sas BL. You'd probably be fine with a level or a 1-2 inch lift and some tires, your angles might be a little wonky though. I'm not sure, I'm not that guy.

I went SAS from the factory knowing that it makes 37's more attainable as well. It really depends if you want to focus some time and money on that once you get it. Most people do point to the gearing as the big one though, although I think BL is decent from factory anyways.

I did the same thing for the same reasons with my Rubicon, the X package (used to be the XR package). Sounds like the BL sas or WT is the best solution.

Unless things have changed, leather seats got you the power seats in a 4-door (but nothing will get it in a 2-door). Sell your Badlands take-offs for $1000 and by Sas take-offs for $1200, that $200 you spent will allow you to run 35's, no lift needed. Or with your $5000 in savings, buy Fox take-offs.

My Badlands non sasquatch. 35 10.50 17 Kenda Klevers. I modified crash bars. 1 in leveling lift on front. Wasn't needed for the tires, i like the look better leveled

I have the standard badlands with 33’s. my thought was daily driver, so better mpg, cheaper to replace tires and still completely capable off road. All of this is true. But.

I’m thinking 35’s now after six months of ownership. If I had to do it over again, I think I would’ve got the Sasquatch package, the rig is factory set for 35’s, no questions, no changes, no extra money spent.

Just a line of thought right now, time will tell the tale.

Edit: and the Sasquatch wheels @ 8.5” wide are a good fit for every 35 under the sun. 315/70’s or 35x12.5 or even 35x11.5 - they’ll all fit that factory wheel nicely, the option is nice to have.

Wildtrak wheels and tires on my non-sas ‘23 Badlands. All I did was remove the crash bar extensions and traded someone for the Sasquatch fender flares. I did adjust the speedo with Forscan too.

After selling my OEM Badlands wheels, it cost me less than $500 and about an hours worth of time. Total difference from SAS is about 0.5” of clearance.

I'd say this isn't bad advice --- except for Badlands trim.

Which already has everything SAS has (or better), just on 33" stock tires.

Like @Tricky Mike said, all you need to do is get a set of take off SAS wheels, new wheels with a bit less positive offset, or use a 1" spacer... and 35"s fit perfect on Badlands.

SAS on a badlands is essentially spending $5,000 for a set of SAS takeoffs that usually run around $1000-$1500 depending on the part of the country you are in. On the other trims, you get a lot more toys, but Badlands already has them, but you still pay nearly full price for SAS uprgade.

The only other thing you are missing is about a 1/2" bump stop on the shocks...

Now if you come across a BadSAS on the lot and get a good deal, I won't look down on you for it or anything. But Badlands trim is the exception to that "just get SAS advice", that otherwise is pretty sound.

Fair enough. I owe you a beer, you sound like you need one

Only 3k for a set of take offs is a great deal
