Morning fellow Buckers!

I just got my 23 Bandlands and am researching for my audio upgrade plan. I do need some help, since it has been decades since I did any car audio builds (all personal upgrades, nothing fancy). Here is what I am looking at/thinking;

Start with the Memphis Audio VIVBELLLE, a 5 channel 1300 watt amp.
- Bass boost up to 18dB
- HP/LP filters on all channels with 2 channels including BP filter
- DSP with 24 dB crossover slopes (400.4V2, 600.4V2, 750.6V2)
It also has wire to RCA adaptors included.

Front speakers Memphis Audio MS26 6.5" and MS42 4"
- RMS/Peak: 62: 65/130 / 42: 40/80
- 62 has a separate and relocatable tweeter, or swivel if it remains in the speaker

Rear speaker would be another MS42

Sub is where I am a little stuck since I can't find/confirm some information.
- What is the available mounting depth of the included enclosure? I have the sub delete BL, but the parts are there.

I am looking at the MA Mojo Mini 6.5". It has a mounting depth of 5".

With the amp, I believe I do not need a line out converter. Will I still need to have Forscan to flash the system? Can I have Ford do that? Any recommendations on which dongle to get? I have seen a lot of posts on how to do it, but most just say get whatever.

For clarity, I listen to metal, rock, jazz, country, swing, I want clarity at volume, enough power to hear it with the doors/top off, tight and responsive low/bass, and enough quality to have separation of instruments in the music. I know it is car audio, so there are limitations to that environment, but it is a goal.

Part of me wonders if keeping the front on one channel (as the factory is setup) is better vs putting the 2 4" on that channel, with a high pass filter. Better for splitting the power per channel at 30/60 x2 vs 65/130 - 30/60 split. Again, totally uneducated here, so would love to hear from the audio experts in the forum.

Anyone try to put in larger speakers without changing the pods? Say maybe a 5.25 or 4x6?

Appreciate any input and thoughts!

Not to throw a monkey wrench into your plans, but you could use the convertible function of the MS62 and have those be your only front speakers. Mount the woofers in the kick panel as normal and mount the tweeters somewhere in/on the dash or a-pillar. That is the direction I went, but with different components:

I don't think that amp has the ability to sum channels, so you have some options:
1 - get your signal for all 4 channels from the front speakers. You will have full range to all speakers, but lose the ability to control front-to-rear fade from the head unit.

2 - use all 4 channels from the factory to feed the front and rear channels of the amp. You will be getting a high-pass filtered signal to your rear channels, but to 4" speakers probably not that big a deal.

3 - use option 2, but use Forscan to send a full signal to the rear channels.

Other option would be to use all 4 channels of the amp to feed your front speakers as 4 separate channels. Then you would run the rears off the head unit.

The sub gets a little trickier. If you are set on using the factory sub location, you are constrained by the size. Your amp has plenty of power for a 10" or 12", but you will need a separate enclosure and need to figure out where to put it. If you want maximum performance with the top off, I would recommend something in a down-firing box.

Think I’m tracking, and appreciate your input. I’m not opposed to one set of 4” in rears, with tweeters from the 6.5 in the dash. Was mostly concerned the sound would have a “hollow disconnect” with just highs up there. That make sense?

Makes sense, but my experience is that you won't be missing anything. I have built several car audio systems and have always gone with component speakers for my front stage. You won't be missing anything. As long as you power your speakers appropriately and tune it well, you will get a full sound as that is what component speakers are designed to do. I was trying to avoid having multiple sets of co-axials on the same channel as that would make tuning (crossovers, time alignment, EQ, etc.) difficult.
