2026 ProCal Ford Tune 2.3L

Can confirm it is out for 2026 models. It came in on Thursday and I installed the tune on my '26 7MT Badlands....

I was considering having it done, but went ahead and did it myself. As soon as I opened the box I remembered the drama from my motorcycle days when it came to tunes. Never had any issues with warranties despite the noise.

So, I figured I'd give it a shot. The hardest part was the lack of clarification in the instructions about the process. Inside the box is the procal, OBD cable, mount, and a bright sheet of paper with your voucher #. I went to the website, logged in, entered the voucher, and submitted it. Nothing happened. The text box blanked out and that was it. No followup screen or verification, so I entered it again. "This voucher...something something" in red. Couldn't find anything in my account or email. So, I pressed on.

I installed the software and connected the procal. It updated and that was about it. I decided to keep going until I hit an actual wall and went on to the next step which was connecting it to my Bronco. When it booted up it asked if I wanted to download my stock tune, so I did. Alright, still making progress. After that, I hooked it back up to my computer. That's when it woke up. A box popped up asking for my FP login and voucher #, then uploaded my stock tune, downloaded the performance tune, and was ready to go. Uploading the tune took about 2 minutes after that. It was definitely worth it.

The 7MT always felt like a manual that was tryjng to act like an automatic. It wasn't bad, but it felt artificial. The ecu tried to help too much, I had to learn to relearn how to shift because the rev hang was so bad. Off the gas, clutch in, shift, clutch out, back on the throttle. I tried sport but it was more like a manual that was trying too hard to be "sporty." The ECU would force the rev hang to keep emissions down and was stingy with boost. It wouldn't let the turbo start spooling until it was 100% certain you were asking for boost. It has a completely different character now.

Normal now feels like a traditional manual...with 415lb of torque at 3,500rpm. The rev hang is gone and gaugr bouncing with the throttle waiting to give you boost. When the throttle body opens opens, the turbo is right there with it. The gauge moves between vacuum and boost like I'm the one holding it back now. Normal is a blast to drive and sport is fun as long as I'm out of the short gears. The throttle is pretty twitchy but it's great once you get rolling.

I should clarify that I love having a manual that I get to work, instead of stepping on the clutch and waiting for ECU to let the RPMs drop. Everyone with an auto will love it without out a doubt. But us 7MT guys get to stay in boost as much as we want. My gas mileage has already dropped because it is so easy to keep the turbo spooled up.

sounds great! were you able to get through Ford before they ran out of stock or did you buy elsewhere like lethal performance? It seemed no quicker than it was released they ran out of stock ....

I ordered it straight from Ford.

I didn't grab the mount before leaving the house, but here's a short 3rd gear pull with 22.8 lbs of boost
