I’m not sure why lack of backseat room is an issue in a two door. I realize it’s more difficult to get back there but I’m 6‘1“ and my boys are 6‘5“ tall and I can ride in the backseat comfortably with them in the front seat driving. There is no economy of scale argument to be made in favor of dropping the 2.7 Ecoboost from anything but the Stroppe. Because for every additional 2.7 2 door, the cost of manufacturing it drops. Sure, in theory, it might raise the cost of the 2.3 liter 2 door, but there is no reason to drop the 2.7 Ecoboost from the 2 door models that remain available.
In regards to the limited back seat room, of the 2 door, the back seat is roomier for 2 people in the 2 door than for 3 people in the 4 door. The 1/4" difference in legroom is not significant between the two body styles, plus cup holders are in the back of EVERY 2 door. Access into the rear seat is not as easy as it is in the 4 door, but access in the front seats of a 2 door is superior to the 4 door.
