2025 Bronco Refresh? Do I wait or buy now?

With sales slowing down I wouldn't be surprised if they start reducing options to streamline manufacturing and even maybe scrapping a trim level.

What they need is to bring back the base model and have more affordable options.

We’ve had our Bronco for 2-1/2 years now and still love it. The only major thing I’d change is a larger tow capacity. Unless Ford is willing to up to 4,500-5,000 lbs across the board, I wouldn’t want a different Bronco. So if you see the one you want and you’ve done your research, you probably aren’t going to be disappointed. Like another said, it’s smiles not miles per gallon!

I'm not so sure there is any need for a refresh, nothing to be gained. Subtle or not so subtle tweaking, I wouldn't be surprised to see the disappearance of a trim level, or less combinations to order within trims.

And I didn’t order upgraded wheels and wondered what the hub bub about BD steelies were. Apparently those have been dropped and everyone gets the “upgraded” wheels.

I don't understand the love of steel wheels, they never used to be desired, just a base to put a hubcap over unless it was a cop car.

At somepoint they became nostalgic, or cool to run them bare, I don't know, I don't get it, but to each their own.

For clarification, I'm talking the basic black steelies with nothing on them. I do like the classic white ones with the dog dishes on them.

It seems Ford is on a six year refresh with most models, Bronco may be different. The OG went 11 years with only minor changes, '68. '70, '73, and '76. With Sport trim, Mod 44 Front, Auto and PS and
Disk Brakes. Seems we're on the same track here, drop Base, 12" Screen, no Cloth, upgraded IP, no non Sas 4A. Now that I write it down I see in the old days you gained features now we lose more than we gain.

There should be info on the 2025’s in a few weeks from what I’ve heard. 2024 Sasquatch has the upgraded steering, which would make the biggest difference for me. I don’t expect much changes to the appearance but maybe there will be more options available that were supposed to be available for the launch, such as a painted top. I love my Bronco and the only thing that would tempt me to get a different one is an “affordable” v8 option.

Definitely wait! There is going to be a SFA edition with a 500 hp V8 and 37’s standard. It’s called the Clydesdale.

Funny! My sources tell me there is a prototype model Ford is testing in the desert in AZ code named - the Warthog. That is a true story!

My guess is for simplification of options - front lockers only on Badlands and maybe Wildtrack (and Raptor). A lift and tire only version of Sasquatch on Big Bend, Black Diamond and Outer Banks.

Look at the way Jeep limits their trims for production efficiency, and expect the same.

I don't think there is anyway Ford can be profitable with a V8 in a Bronco. They stuffed one in the F150 Tremor, I wonder if people are choosing that over the ecoboost, I wouldn't.

I'm a child of the 70s I 'get' the V8, but, technology has come a long way, I'll take the ecoBoost every time.

I think that actual take rate on a V8 would be a lot less than the people who say they want it. I believe Stellantis discontinued the 392, so what does that say?

That doesn't add up for me.

What might make sense is ordering an off road package , (skids, rails, beadllock capable rims)
And still have the Sasquatch package.
So you can do one or the other or both within some trims.

Which then probably could lead to the combination of some trims, as long as the equipment packages allow you to go in either direction.

I can also see Ford limiting 1 engine selection for all trims, with maybe the exception of a manual Badlands and the V6 automatic.

That could free up space for another Bronco trim with better specs for weight, hauling/ towing, geared a little bit better for camping, hunting, fishing, outdoor sports, and overlanding.

Bottom line, Ford has made 10 trims with a lot of overlap between most of them. I get it, the Bronco was new, they wanted/needed to see what the actual purchasing trends were going to be. But now they need to better define the trims, and make the selection make sense to the average buyer.

If it were me, I’d buy now if you find your build. I look at what was lost in MY23 to MY24 and would be nervous they will screw with the Sas package or jack up prices on addons like they did with paint costs.
