I have seen OEM style fender flares that are 1.5" wider. Other aftermarket flat top style flares, mock bolt on flares that are much wider and taller than the OEM style that comes with a Big Bend vehicle. Is there no company making a narrower fender flare. Something between what we have now, and a flare delete kit.

Has anyone used a fender delete kit with mud flaps or as some call them splash guards. Do they produce a decent result. I plan on keeping OEM sized tires. I liked the look of the F100s and Broncos of the day that people here back in the day called 'pizza cutters'.

I have heard some complaints regarding the resulting visual profile of these flares. You can see the inner curvature of the wheel well with the squared off type. Personally I find that distracting. I've also heard complaints from people using the fender delete options regarding switching them in and out for offroading. Apparently they can get hung up on the fasteners from time to time. Of course, everyone has different tastes and I would not begrudge anyone their customization choices. I'm merely reporting that some owners have had buyer's remorse while trying out various fender options.

Yeah certainly something to consider when looking into either

These are pretty much the exact reasons I’ve stayed away from them….the broncos round body lines with the square flair over them are a eyesore and I like the idea of being able to remove the flairs quickly with no tools.

I would love to see a smaller (3”-4”) high clearance carbon fiber flair that retains the quick disconnect setup…

It's all personal preference. No right or wrong. One thing to consider is certain state laws where your fender flare has to cover the whole tire. I personally upgraded to from stock BD 31.6" to 285/75/r16 32.8" with wider tires. I also added the wider SAS fender flares as I personally feel they give a more aggressive look. The young guys who were mounting my tires in my local shop wanted no flares and huge poke. To each their own. Go with what works for you. I like my look. Your look may be very different, so good for you! No reason to hate.

Of course, I agree. Everyone will have different tastes. In my case I have a non-sas BD that came stock with 32s. Last year I upgraded to 35s but kept the stock flares (didn't really have a choice. Spent my budget on the tires). So my tires poke out a couple of inches beyond the flare and I kind of like the look. The downside is mud gets thrown everywhere, but I've got to wash it anyways. Just requires a little more time at the wand wash.

I did the KBD flairs. I really like the looks and the square flare shape fits the Bronco look better in my opinion. If I had to do it again I wouldn't put them on though. The double sided tape has a major problem with popping off when it gets cold.

Important questions... did you use 3M branded tape? Was it rather for higher holding strength? Was it rated for extreme temperatures? Was the surface properly prepped before adhesion? If you can say yes to all four than you shouldn't be having a problem.

Surface was prepped correctly, I used the tape that KBD supplied which i do believe was 3M. KBD even sent me out extra rolls of tape. I am not sure of what the temperature rating is on the tape. I will say that KBD has been awesome to work with. One of the Front flares came in twisted just a little bit and it wouldn't sit flush on the body of the Bronco. They replaced it free of charge with just some pictures.

I ran the KBD's on my first Bronco and loved the look of them - I got SO many compliments on it. I was going to pull them off and keep them for my new Bronco when I traded it in but when I pulled them off I had a lot of scratching in the paint where there were gaps due to the adhesive. I tried to clean it up but in the end put those flares back on the Bronco to trade in. I didn't add them on my new bronco for that reason but I really miss the look.
